Christmas is coming…..I can’t believe that this time next week we’ll be traveling home to spend Christmas with our family. Where has this year gone?! Since we won’t be home to celebrate we thought we’d have our own special day. So next Saturday we are having our family Christmas and Liam will open his presents. He’s still young and doesn’t know that it isn’t really Christmas. Those of you that travel out of town what do you do? Do you take your presents with you to open on Christmas? Do you wait til you are back? Or do you do like us and open early? I’m at loss for when he gets a little older!
This week has been a chore! I’ve been sick, in fact I have no voice! My son was sick too. My husband, bless his heart, has gotten us dinner every night this week after work and I couldn’t thank him for that enough. I haven’t wanted to do anything but cuddle with little man and lay on the couch. Unfortunately chores have piled up and I have more laundry than I care to think about doing!
On the plus side being sick gave me an opportunity to read and I read some really great books this week! I’m still on a reading spree and read five books this week. In my defense one was a novella 😉 What have you been up to this week?

I started this on Saturday and so far I’m enjoying it. The last few weeks I’ve been in the mood for sappy romance…you know like the Hallmark movie type romance. So yeah, this fits that bill 😉

We’re traveling too this Christmas, we’ll open presents on Christmas Day and the hit the road later. But we’re going to have a Christmas at home with my mom too after we get back. Hope you’re enjoying the holidays.
Merry Mondays looks fun.

I’m loving Merry Mondays! Come join us this week 😉 Thanks for stopping bu!
I hope you’re feeling better, Lillian! It’s hard to be sick so close to Christmas, I was fighting a sinus infection last week, and I had no energy at all.
When we travel for Christmas, we usually bring the presents with us, since the kids are old enough to know when Christmas is. Also, if we go somewhere, it’s usually to see my mom and my sister, and it wouldn’t be fun for my kids to not have any presents while their cousins have many.
Have a great week and happy reading.

Thanks Lexxie! I’m starting to feel much better. My voice is slowly coming back 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! Have a good week 😀
I am sick too – I wish it was my throat! I have had a stomach bug since Friday.
We rarely go away for the holidays but, because my mom is getting on in years, and is in the hospital right now, we are going to go see her.
We have already opened a couple of gifts, but probably we’ll open the rest around the end of the week.
I have to get mom some more stuff, but for my sister and her hubs we are doing just stockings – so I had to make new stockings.

Oh no! I hope you feel better soon!! Your mom too! Thanks for stopping by, have a good week 🙂
If you had to get sick now was better then when you had to travel. I hope you and your son are on the mend.
When my son was little we would open some presents before we traveled, took some with us, and left some to open when we got home. It made it seem like 3 Christmas’s and was so fun.

That’s an awesome idea! I have to agree with you, if I had to be sick at least it’s now and not Christmas. Have a good week 🙂
I do hope you are feeling better!
I am glad you have accepted the COYER challenge. It’s so much fun, looking forward to reading your starter post. (I need to catch up on the new ones)
We have xmas at my house, I know a lot of people travel with presents but I just don’t know how they do that. It seems like a lot to pack and take with you. But I think it’s nice to have a tradition in your family of opening them the week before xmas. I guess you can see how it goes each year.
Merry Mondays is a cute idea, I will check out the posts I missed.
Have a great week Lillian, Feel Better!

I’m excited to participate in COYER! This is my first year blogging and it will be my first challenge too 😀
I don’t either. That’s why we’re having Christmas Saturday. I’m looking forward to it. We did it last year too and Liam had no clue. To him, he got theee Christmases. One with us and both sets of grandparents.
Merry Mondays has been a lot of fun! Come join us 😉
Thanks for stopping by, have a good week!
When my kids were little we didn’t travel, as our family was all close. Now we are scattered. However my sister who lived out of state came with her two children and Santa came here. They brought some, shipped some and the like. My folks boxed it all up and shipped it to their home after…but the expense today would be beyond ridiculous.

We take the presents with us when we travel (or ship them ahead.) I’ve never been very happy with opening them ahead of time! Of course, we have only one child (now adult), which made it a lot easier. And since my husband’s parents lived near us, we only had to travel every other year, which also helped. I will say that the year I bought my husband a DVD player, I gave him a photo of it on Christmas morning, and left the DVD player safely at home!
Hope you’re feeling a lot better. I’ll be spending Christmas with my family too, at my parent’s house 🙂
