Feature & Follow Friday #3 – Reviewing Places

feature&follow-friday-logoFeature & Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee @ Parajunkee’s View and Alison @ Alison Can Read. Each week the two hosts post a question for Book Bloggers to answer, provide a link-up, and choose a participant to feature on their blogs. If you participate, the point is to follow others and in return gain followers.

Welcome to this week’s edition of Feature & Follow! I’m Lillian in case you didn’t know that already 😉 I started blogging about a year ago and it has been a fun and crazy year! I read pretty much anything that is placed in front of me, I’m a bit of a cover snob, and I tend to gravitate to young adult fiction. Why young adult? Well, it’s usually a cleaner read than adult fiction, there’s plenty of action/suspense, and who can resist a romance about first love?!

My blog features whatever I happen to be in the mood to read. I’ve had some fun interviews with authors and characters and hope to do more in the very near future. Please join me in some bookish adventures. You can follow via Bloglovin or anyway you choose 😀

This week’s questions is: Do you post your reviews anywhere besides your blog? Where else do you post reviews? – Suggested by A Great Read.

This is a great question! When I first started blogging, I personally wasn’t sure where to post my reviews. Now I post them just about everywhere 😀 I post ALL of my reviews to Goodreads, even some that don’t make it onto the blog. Any books I’ve purchased or received in exchange for review I post to Amazon and Barnes & Noble in addition to Goodreads. I will also share the links to my personal and blog Facebook pages, twitter, Google+ and Pinterest 🙂

Personally, posting to Goodreads and Amazon are the two easiest ways for me to share reviews. Barnes & Noble limits the number of characters and (maybe it’s just me) but I can never get it formatted right! I only publish to B&N now if it’s requested.

Where do you share reviews?

  1. I try to keep up with posting on Amazon and B&N but I usually get side tracked until I’m looking for ebook deals and such, and then remember that I can post reviews on the site. My blog and goodreads are the libraries of my review 🙂

  2. I know what you mean about Barnes&Noble, it’s hard to format the posts over there and make sure they look right. It just ends up looking like a jumbled mess and I don’t like it, I like for them to look nice, clean, and formatted. It’s why I take my time when I’m writing them up and coding them out. But mostly, I post all of my reviews for eGalley’s to either Edelweiss/Netgalley, post all of my reviews to Goodreads, and then I try and make sure I have them up on Amazon, then link them to Tsu (the new social media platform) as well as Medium and sometimes, if I have enough time I’ll try to get them up on Pinterest and Booklikes. 🙂

Happy Reading and Hopping Through! 🙂

  3. Wow, you are a power poster. 🙂 I don’t cross post anywhere. From time to time on goodreads, in the past, but that never really brought much but trolls out of the woodwork to leave nasty comments on my own website.

So a cover snob huh? What are your favorites?

    • That’s never good! Luckily I’ve not had that yet.

Oh yes I’m a terrible cover snob 😆 For this coming year I have two favorites: BeastKeeper by Cat Hellisen and Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I’ve wanted to read those since I saw the covers 😀

  4. I’m afraid my own blog gets the love first. 🙂 Then if it’s a NetGalley offering I’ll post a review there. I’m trying to keep updated on Goodreads – so much to do there, but I’m recommending and reviewing there. Getting in the habit of putting up a small review on Amazon too. But some days… my best intentions just aren’t enough. Which is why I have to go back to Goodreads and fix that up. 🙂

Let me add that I love your blog’s theme. Actually went to that site, had my finger on the buy button then didn’t cos I did not want to seem like a theme stealer even in another color. But I was tempted. 🙂

I post my reviews first on my blog and then, usually about a month later, I post them to Goodreads, Amazon, LibraryThing, and Booklikes. I don’t know why I tend to procrastinate about putting my reviews up at other sites, but I do. Happy Friday! Old bloglovin follower. Here’s my F&F.

  6. Wow you are a posting queen! I tried posting reviews on other sites along with Goodreads and my blog, but I just never stuck with it.

  7. I agree with you wholeheartedly – Barnes & Noble is a pain to post at. It’s not user friendly at all, and I struggle with formatting, too. Plus I can’t figure out how to edit my review if there’s a typo. One time they deleted one of my reviews with the excuse that I had an “unacceptable word” in it. I don’t usually cuss in my reviews, so I don’t know what they were talking about.
