May’s Clean-Sweep ARC Challenge Accepted!

ARC or the advanced review copy may also be known as my guilty pleasure or taking up too much space on my TBR pile. Currently I have 39 ARCs on my TBR….how did this happen?! I’ll tell you how it happened. I have a bad habit of not being able to say NO. Now I have about three months worth of reading to catch up on. Then I saw this:

May Clean Sweep ARC Challenge

Kimba @ the Caffeinated Book Reviewer is hosting a clean sweep ARC challenge starting May 1st and running through June 3rd. This is my chance to not only participate in a reading challenge but to also clean out my ARCs. My goal is to knock that 39 in half….that’s right you heard me. I’m planning to read/review about 20 books next month. That’s double my normal reading of around 8-10 books a month.

I’m taking the COYER philosophy with this. That means I will be reading and if at half way through the book I’m still not interested (as has been the case with a few of the books on this list) than I’m throwing in the towel, DNF, I’m done. Why? Because not every book is for every one and I’m not too proud to admit that.

Now before you get your panties in a wad 😉 I’ll be fair about my DNFs. Meaning you will not see a review on my blog unless I feel it is truly warranted. The way I handle DNFs is that I email the publisher/author (whoever provided the copy) and give them my reasons as to why I could not finish the book whether it was the genre, the plot, characters whatever keeps me from liking the book enough to finish it.*

*Keep in mind that since I’ve been blogging seriously I’ve only DNFed 4 books. If I make it to halfway I usually will push through to the end.

Here are a few of the books I plan to read next month and you will see full reviews for them over the coming summer. Be sure to check back on this post to see the reviews for the books I get completed.
