Feature & Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee @ Parajunkee’s View and Alison @ Alison Can Read. Each week the two hosts post a question for Book Bloggers to answer, provide a link-up, and choose a participant to feature on their blogs. If you participate, the point is to follow others and in return gain followers.
Welcome to this week’s edition of Feature & Follow! I’m Lillian in case you didn’t know that already 😉 I started blogging a year ago and it has been a fun and crazy year! I read pretty much anything that is placed in front of me, I’m a bit of a cover snob, and I tend to gravitate to young adult fiction. Why young adult? Well, it’s usually a cleaner read than adult fiction, there’s plenty of action/suspense, and who can resist a romance about first love?!
My blog features whatever I happen to be in the mood to read. I’ve had some fun interviews with authors and characters and hope to do more in the very near future. Please join me in some bookish adventures. You can follow via Bloglovin or anyway you choose 😀
This week’s questions is: “What are your favorite books that have been made into a movie?” – Suggested by Girl of 1000 Wonders
Okay I have a confession…I HATE book adaption movies. They so rarely get the book right on screen. It’s either too Hollywoodized or I’m questioning whether the screenwriter ACTUALLY read the book. Usually I’m this guy in the theater:
Needless to say I get really upset when they mess up my books!!! But I really do enjoy book adaptations when they are done well….like The Hunger Games for instance.
The screenwriters and actors have obviously read the books. There are very little changes from the books to the movies. AND the few things that are changed are done for time sake or to build up the characters, since the books are told through only Katniss’s eyes.
Your turn: What’s your favorite book to movie?
…or follow any way you chose 😀

Hello! I’m following through Bloglovin. I have to agree with you though! I want my favorite books to be adapted into movies but at the same time, I don’t want them to because it’s rare for books to be given justice when they’re turned to movies. And also, The Hunger Games is also on my list.

Hopping through. I enjoyed the Hunger Games movies too. I really like the books but am not obsessed with them. Still, I think the movies have been very good.

I have few movie adaptations that I get upset with, I’ve gotten to the point where I no longer expect the books and movies to be too much alike. Plus I like seeing how other people tell the same story. What they changed, if it would have been something I would’ve changed as well. That sort of thing. 🙂

Yeah, I totally get that! I thought Harry Potter was done well enough. I was upset when somethings were left out or changed soooo entirely. But overall I enjoyed those. My movie pick was the WORST book adaptation ever! Like you said, I don’t think they even read this book, maybe browsed it to get the character names because that was about all they got right. I will say though that when you remove the fact that the movie was supposedly based off a book, it was sill a decent movie. Just a horrible movie adaptation.
