Happy Sunday everyone! Well after 5 weeks of my family and I being sick and just passing it back and forth, I think…that is I HOPE that we are finally over it! I’m ready to enjoy this season 😀

This past week I only managed to read one whole book but that book was also over 1000 pages AND it was Jennifer L Armentrout’s Oblivion so it was totally worth my time!!!! And can I just say it was AMAZING and I really hope that after that ending there is possibly a spin-off in the future….pretty please Ms. Armentrout?

Currently Reading

This is actually a reread for me. Yes I know the book isn’t out yet so how can I be rereading it. Simple, I beta read it. Now I’m simply enjoying it and checking out what’s changed. If you enjoy sci-fi, then I highly suggest you check it out…or go preorder it at the very least 😉

Merry Mondays

Merry Mondays started this past week!!! It’s a weekly meme hosted by moi during the month of December (and sometimes July ? ) to celebrate Christmas and the holiday season. Each week a different topic centered around the holidays will be discussed. I hope you will join me this year and link up your holiday themed posts! This week’s topic is: “Favorite Holiday Tradition.” To see a full list of this year’s topics, click

This Week’s Book Fix

Blackhearts by Nicole Castroman (eARC via Simon & Schuster)

Oblivion by Jennifer L. Armentrout (eBook Purchase)

Unwrapping Her Perfect Match by Kat Latham (Kindle Freebie)

What are you reading this week?

Little man is the “Star Student” this week at preschool. This means he will be the leader and get to go first in all the activities. We made a poster all about him to share with his classmates. I’ll be bringing his favorites snacks to share at snack time and I’ll go tomorrow and read his favorite story (Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas) to them. He came home Friday SO excited. He’s been on cloud nine all weekend 😀 It’s so sweet!

This week I have a few review books to read and then I plan to reread The Hunger Games trilogy in preparation for date night Saturday where the hubby has promised me Mockingjay Part 2!!! I’m so excited. I’ve read all the reviews and spoilers so I know what to expect and heck I’ve read the book so many times I can’t even begin to count so it’s not like I’m spoiling anything for myself. I just can’t wait to go!

What are your plans this week?

  1. Congrats to your son for being Star Student! I love that he gets the whole week of being first. He must be super excited!

You might not want to be my friend anymore but I DNF the hunger games. I just couldn’t get into the first book at all, I am not sure why. I have seen the first movie but that was about it. I do love YA but for some reason I just couldn’t get past the first two chapters. Maybe I will try again one day but I hope you are able to go and see it this weekend!

Have a great week, Lillian! Happy Reading! ox

  2. That is awesome about your little one and I love that he loves How the Grinch Stole Christmas! I found a Grinch sweater for my little one to wear for his Christmas concert and he’s completely not sold by it. How can you not like the Grinch?? I love the Star Student idea. It sounds like a lot of fun.
1000 pages in a week is seriously impressive even if it was only one book! Jennifer Armentrout is on my TBR but I haven’t read anything by her yet. Have a great week!

  3. I have read the first two books in the Lux series, but then never got around to reading the rest. I am glad to hear you enjoyed Oblivion. I didn’t realize it was such a thick book, wow. I am currently re-reading Saven Deception, as I also beta read it. It’s fun to see what has changed since. Aww that’s adorable your son is so excited about being the star student, I hope he has a rgeat day tomorrow. Have a great week!

  4. Oh the ‘star student’ gig does sound great and I’m glad your little boy is excited about it. What a lovely idea.

I hope everyone stays well throughout winter now – the winter here in Oz was bad for colds and flus etc…

And a 1000 page book?! Perhaps that’s why I stick to thrillers, suspense and crime fiction! My attention span wouldn’t cope! 🙂

  5. I got Blackhearts too and I am so stoked to read it. It was one of my most anticipated releases of 2016, and I’m struggling to wait until closer to its release date to read and review it. It looks like you have a good week ahead of you. I personally looooved Mockingjay Part 2, so I hope you do too!
