Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at The Broke and the Bookish. They’d love to share their lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
This week’s topic is really broad: “Valentine’s Day is next week…let’s do a Valentine’s Day themed freebie! Top Ten Books That Would Make Great Valentine’s Day Reads (or anti-Valentine’s day reads), Top Ten OTPs, Top 10 fictional crushes, top ten great love declarations in fiction, swoony quotes from books etc. Get creative!” SO I thought I’d have fun with it. Rather than talking books this week, I thought I’d talk movies. I absolutely love a good romantic comedy and I could easily list 50 here for you. I’ve narrowed my favorites into 10. As always these ten are in no particular order and (I hope) will appeal to all 😉
10 Movies Perfect for Date Night
When Harry Met Sally is one of my all-time favorite movies. It’s got some iconic scenes that people still quote today, even though the movie it’s almost as old as me 😀 Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal are perfect for the roles they play. Plus friendship before love what girl doesn’t like that kind of story?
Sleepless in Seattle another Meg Ryan movie, but this time with Tom Hanks. I adore this movie! I think I like the son more than the actual romance 😉
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days I love Matthew McConaughey in everything so of course when he’s paired with Kate Hudson I’m going to watch it. This movie (according to my husband) has enough guy humor in it to balance the sappy romance.
Something’s Gotta Give 2 of my all-time favorite actors in one hilarious movie about love after middle age. I kinda it!
50 First Dates This movie makes the list for 2 reasons: my husband and I watched this on one of our first dates AND Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler….I guess that’s 3 reasons 😉 Love these two and their chemistry!
Definitely, Maybe This movie will make you laugh, cry, and leave you feeling giddy. I love how the movie is the dad recalling his past love life with his daughter after she faces sex ed at school. So many questions she poses that NO dad wants to answer!
The Ugly Truth While this movie is crude on so many levels, it has enough sappy romance for woman balancing out the overwhelming amount of guy jokes. Plus Gerard Butler 😀
My Big Fat Greek Wedding This is just a fun, family movie! You have a girl who goes through a life-affirming makeover and her family who just do no understand. I laughed so hard with this movie and the dad is crazy in a sweet, over-bearing way.
Bridget Jones’ Diary I have a confession to make….I didn’t realize that this was like a loose, modern-day retelling of Pride and Prejudice until the last time I watched it this past summer. I don’t know how I missed that but seriously a funny, quirky movie.
Bringing Up Baby This list wouldn’t be complete without my mother’s favorite movie AND the late great actors Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant. Cary Grant is the original Robert Redford, Brad Pitt, Mel Gibson, Chris Hemsworth….get the picture?! He’s the original heart-throb of Hollywood and this movie is comedic gold when you add in the beautiful and hilarious Katharine Hepburn.
I absolutely love 50 First Dates, The Ugly Truth and My Big Fat Greek Wedding! Another movie I love is P.S. I love you (more Gerard Butler)!! 🙂

P.S. I Love You is an amazing movie (book too!) but I cannot get my husband to watch it for anything 😉
I LOVE your topic!!! I would totally pick Notting Hill (although it probably is more of a chick-flick… oh well, I don’t care). I also did enjoy How to Lose a Guy… oh and You’ve Got Mail would be my Meg Ryan movie. Great list!!

I love You’ve Got Mail 😀 It’s one of my faves. I didn’t include it though because I ready had one Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan movie. I love all Meg’s romcoms!
I love Bringing Up Baby! Cary Grant is just yummy and he’s a fantastic comedic actor so you really can’t beat him. I love your other choices. I think How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is my favorite. That movie is amazing!

Bringing Up Baby is just great with the combo of Grant and Hepburn!!! My favorite Cary Grant movie though is My Favorite Wife with Irene Dunne. First time I watched it was with my husband’s aunt in Texas after we first started dating. I stayed up with her real late talking and watching the movie. Love it!!!
Sleepless in Seattle and 50 First Date are two great movies! I’ll have to check out these others.
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
oooo those are some of my very faves! I would add You’ve Got Mail, The Decoy Bride, and While You Were Sleeping 🙂 My TTT
