Mom - Waiting on Wed

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event originally created and hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we are all eagerly anticipating. Jill has been MIA since August of 2016. Despite this, the meme lives on….Hope you come back Jill! Until then I will be joining Tressa at Wishful Endings and her meme Can’t-Wait Wednesday.

This week I’m eagerly waiting on The Savage Dawn by Melissa Grey, the final book in The Girl at Midnight. I fell in love with Echo in The Girl at Midnight. I loved the urban fantasy mixed with a dose of mythology. The author created a truly unique world reminiscent of Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I cannot wait to read its conclusion, especially after the cliffhangers from the previous books. I’m torn though. Usually I like HEAs, but this series may not have one and I might be okay with that. Echo is a strong character who has faced many odds, but her life isn’t a happy one so….I guess we’ll find out in July ?

The sides have been chosen and the battle lines drawn.

Echo awakened the Firebird. Now she is the only one with the power to face the darkness she unwittingly unleashed . . . right into the waiting hands of Tanith, the new Dragon Prince. Tanith has one goal in mind: destroy her enemies, raze their lands, and reign supreme in a new era where the Drakharin are almighty and the Avicen are nothing but a memory.

The war that has been brewing for centuries is finally imminent. But the scales are tipped. Echo might hold the power to face the darkness within the Dragon Prince, but she has far to go to master its overwhelming force. And now she’s plagued by uncertainty. With Caius no longer by her side, she doesn’t know if she can do it alone. Is she strong enough to save her home and the people she loves?

Whether Echo is ready to face this evil is not the question. The war has begun, and there is no looking back. There are only two outcomes possible: triumph or death.
