Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event originally created and hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we are all eagerly anticipating. Jill has been MIA since August of 2016. Despite this, the meme lives on….Hope you come back Jill! Until then I will be joining Tressa at Wishful Endings and her meme Can’t-Wait Wednesday.
Happy Wednesday y’all! This week I’m anxiously waiting on The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. I love high fantasy and I particular like Fae fantasy. This particular one has me excited because it takes a mortal girl and places her right in the heart of the Fae court. I’m excited to see this author’s take on Fae mythology and how she creates the world. And that cover….I’m drooling ?
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
Series: The Folk of the Air #1
on 2018-01-02
Length: 384 pages
Of course I want to be like them. They’re beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever.
And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe.
Jude was seven years old when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.
To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.
In doing so, she becomes embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, discovering her own capacity for bloodshed. But as civil war threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

This is one that I am so excited about as well! The cover and the concept just speak to me. I hope that we both love it when we get the chance to read it. 🙂

Me too! I like the idea of court politics and civil war. Should make for a thrilling read 🙂 Hope you enjoy it Olivia!
That cover is really cool, and I’ve been seeing this one everywhere lately! I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks Angela 🙂
I can not wait for this one too. The wait is getting getting shorter now. 🙂 Nice choice!
Thank you for stopping by my CWW.
Me either! I’m so glad it’s just two more months (though I can’t believe 2017 is almost over)
Interesting cover.

I like Holly Black as an author but for some reason, this cover is reminding me of another series. Maybe the one by Julie Kagawa.

I though the same. It kind of reminds me of Talon (the font does anyways).
The cover looks very much like the German edition of One Dark Thrown. But I like it anyway. Enjoy. And thanks for visiting my blog.
Best wishes

Oh I haven’t seen that one. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Oh nice! I’m curious about this one myself! I actually haven’t read Holly Black since years ago when I read Tithe! Which I LOVED! I tried her White Cat…I think that’s what it was called, but couldn’t get into it! Definitely keeping an eye on this one though!
Here’s my WoW

Doesn’t it though? Love a good fae book!
I admit that I’m not a fan of this author but to be fair, her books are not my favourite genre. I hope you enjoy this one!

I have no opinion on her yet as I haven’t read her 🙂
I have yet to read a Holly Black novel, as her books are a bit too creepy for me. This one, though, sounds SO intriguing, I am DEFINITELY adding it to my Goodreads shelves!
Thanks for sharing! And thanks for commenting on my “Can’t Wait Wednesday” post!! <3 <3 🙂 🙂
I haven’t read her yet either Maria. But I love fae stories so I’ll be at least trying this one 😉 Thanks for stopping by!
