Her attitude is less than merry and bright…

Melanie Harper and Christmas do not see eye to eye. While most people celebrate and look forward to the holidays, it's something she has come to dread. When she receives a gift from an unlikely source - a house in the quaint town of Silver Bell Falls - her immediate reaction is to reject it. After all, with a name like that, you're pretty much guaranteed to be surrounded by people who love Christmas!

He sees it as the most wonderful time of the year…

Josiah Stone is all about peace on earth and goodwill toward man. Maybe it's because he's the sheriff of a town named after a beloved Christmas song, but that doesn't make it any less true. Christmas is his favorite time of year and living in Silver Bell Falls where everyone feels the same and celebrates it nearly year-round only adds to his festive outlook on life.

Can a white Christmas change everything?

When Melanie is forced to stay in Silver Bell Falls during the actual holiday season, she's less than thrilled. But after meeting the sexy sheriff she finds that there is something to be said about the magic of Christmas.

You know how sometimes you read a book and it turns out to be kind of a perfect storm of Christmas-y-ness? That’s this story. All over. The house. Melanie Harper and Christmas have never gotten on well. Once her mother left at Christmastime, it seemed that every year she and her dad tried to make it special it would backfire. They finally gave up, and as an adult she has never celebrated it or found any joy or magic in it. It certainly didn’t help that her dad fell out with his mother around that time. She had no good memories of her grandmother to guide her through the biggest surprise of her life. Her estranged grandmother left her a tiny cottage in upstate New York, in a place called, of all things, Silverbell Falls. Yes, like the song – it’s even on the town sign, which plays the song over speakers!

Melanie finds herself spending a required three months in this tiny Christmas town, spending time with her sexy neighbor and the town sheriff, Josiah.

When Josiah finds his elderly neighbor’s vacation home occupied by a memorable and enchanting woman, his life is turned upside down. As he gets to know her, he finds out how she feels about Christmas and cannot believe it. To him, Christmas is the most magical and special time of year. He makes a deal with himself to make Melanie fall in love with Christmas (and maybe him) – and possibly spend her life in the little Christmas town with him.

This book is SO CUTE! I listened to it on Audible – and I loved the narration. The story is just too sweet, and the characters evolve with each other. I love Melanie’s relationship with her dad, and her arc is exactly the kind of thing you want to read around this time of year. I just smiled to myself when I finished it –  warm fuzzies galore! <3
