Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together
Happy Tuesday y’all! Today’s topic is “Characters I’d Follow on Social Media.” Since a majority of the books I read are dystopians and computers are a thing of the past (or never even existed), I had a hard time coming up with characters for this topic. There are several I’d love to follow, however could you imagine Katniss Everdeen with an Instagram 😂 Yeah me either. So I decided to stick to characters from contemporary YA or romance. Here are my top ten must follow characters if they had a social media in no particular order. As always, covers/titles link to Blog/Goodreads/Amazon(aff).
The Ten Must Follow Characters on Social Media (if they had one)
Brian Oliver from Cinder and Ella by Kelly Oram: Brian is at the top of my list because I just love him. His character in the story is one that is so relatable and also not at the same time. He’s a child actor trying to show that his talent reaches into adulthood. And he happens to be in love with a girl he’s never met. I love the story, but I adore Brian. He’s quirky and funny. I have a feeling his Instagram would show that.
Madison from Just One of the Royals by Kate and Leah Rooper: Madison is the gossip girl of The Chicago Falcons series. I want to follow her just to get the dirt on the rest of the players and characters of the series.
Princess Samantha Washington from American Royals by Katharine McGee: Sam is the wild child of the Washington family. Her social media is sure to be eye opening to say the least 😉
Darien from Geekerella by Ashley Poston: I just love Darien. He isn’t the typical Hollywood playboy the media portrays him to be. I think his social media would be fun to follow just because he is as much as a geek as I am!
Zoe Miller from #Starstruck by Sariah Wilson: This girl is funny and I related to her on all levels. Her story is sweet and romantic and funny and ironic all at the same time. I think following her journey into the spotlight would be interesting and make a great Instagram story.
Sienna Diaz from Grin and Beard It by Penny Reid: This particular Winston Brothers book might be my favorite (second only to Cletus’s book) simply because of Sienna. Sienna is a movie star who is visiting the hills of Tennessee for a film shoot. I have to say I adore her. She is spunky and sassy and doesn’t care who knows it. I’d love to follow her on social as she experiences my neck of the woods.
Vaughn Bennett from When It’s Real by Erin Watt: Vaughn has this girl next door persona that gets her an unusual job offer to be the fake girlfriend of troubled rockstar Oakley. I think her social would be fun to follow as she navigates her newfound stardom.
Kyle Hamilton from V is for Virgin by Kelly Oram: The Kyle Hamilton….enough said 😂 No really, Kyle is a pain in the butt. He believes himself the center of the universe and I’m sure his social media would reflect that. However he is my pain in the butt and Kelly Oram created a fantastic, unforgettable character when she dreamed him up.
Tristan Daniels from Distraction by Angela McPherson: A college football quarterback with a tragic story….who wouldn’t want to follow Tristan? I love him and his sweet romance.
Dorthea from The Storymakers by Betsy Schow: So I’m breaking my own rules including Dorthea here, but I had no choice. I just love her though it took nearly the entire series for that to happen. Her social media, I’m sure, would be fun to follow especially as she matures.

Cinder and Ella would be my number one too. Gah, I love that book.
Me too! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve reread that book (or listened. I love the audio too!) ☺️
I’d sure like to follow Darien, too.

OOh nice! These are all new to me books/characters! I’d think it be so fun if authors could have their characters have twitter pages or something! Of course, that’s just adding more work for them, so I’d rather have more books! Lol!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
