Happy Sunday y’all! This past week was a chilly one for East TN, well really ALL of Tennessee 😅 We woke up Monday to snow and ice that steadily fell all day into Tuesday morning. Needless to say, around here, we are not prepared for that kind of weather. So we hunkered down. I made soup, we had to close the clinic for most of the week, and we played games and read and watch a lot of TV. We had a slight break in the weather Thursday, roads were still bad so little man and I stayed home, and then temps dropped again yesterday. I think we’re going to be in the low 20s today. My poor heat unit is not handling this cold very well. We woke up one morning with it 57 in the house 🥶 Anyways, it was at least a good reading week. I managed to listen to three audiobooks, I DNFed one book, and I’m almost finished with my current read.

  1. Well you wouldn’t want this for every week but it sounds like a nice break. We still have our Minnesota clothes so even if our heat didn’t work well we would be ok. But 57 is too cold now that I’ve lived in NC for 9 years. It seems to be the week for hauling books for 2024. I got a lot.

  2. Yeah we had that colder weather too! Schools were mostly canceled on Tuesday for the immediate areas. I am forever grateful to be working from home! I hate driving in that kind of weather (and rainy weather too, but winter weather especially!). It was nuts! Accidents were reported everywhere and it was just awful. Usually our area can prepare for such things but the weather has been a bit back and forth and salt wasn’t always able to go out beforehand. Think maybe roads were too wet? It was something like that!

Nice new reads! Those are all totally new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all! I read Bride earlier this month and rather liked it! It was my first Hazelwood book since it was her first paranormal! I would definitely read another one should she write more in that genre!

Hope you have a great week ahead!

    • Yeah our area just isn’t prepared at all. I think our county has two salt trucks and that’s it 😅 So it was a mess this week.

All those were books I saw on tiktok that were recommended (except the arc). I thought I’d give them a try ☺️

  3. I’m sorry your heater isn’t equipped to handle the extreme cold. Our heat broke last winter and it was so awful to be in that cold of a house. We bought a couple of space heaters to help out until we could get the main one fixed. I hope the temperature warms up quickly so you that your heater can have a break.
