Happy Sunday y’all! It’s been a long week. My grandmother did not improve. The goal was to send her to rehab earlier in the week, but she didn’t qualify. She stopped eating and drinking on her own and is now requiring oxygen. The decision was made to bring her home to my mom’s house with hospice care. As devastating as this is, I know that it is the right decision for her. She’s improved a little since being there. She’s eating (not much, maybe 1-2 teaspoons a day) and drinking a little now that we’ve got some thickener to increase the consistency of the liquids. I’m heartbroken to see her this way but even more so for my Grandaddy. They’ve been married for 69 years and known each other since they were kids.

With everything going on, my mind has been a mess so reading hasn’t been great. I managed to finish a book early in the week, but am still working on all the books I started last Sunday.

  1. So sorry to hear about your grandma. I just hope your experience with hospice care is better than what we had with my stepdad. But I think being home is probably a better place to be at this time too. I’ll keep your family in my thoughts. I want to read Ne’er Duke Well, and also the Tangled Up In You book. Loved the latest Amy Daws too. I hope you have a good week.
