Mom-Top Ten

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at The Broke and the Bookish. They’d love to share their lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Have you ever wondered if an author wrote a character is big on books as yourself? I know I have. It’s hard to imagine anyone really wanting to read about a girl or guy that reads as much as I do, but sometimes it works! Today’s Top Ten topic is “Ten Characters Who Are Fellow Book Nerds” 😀

I honestly have had a harder time then I thought I would coming up with ten characters! So I cheated just a little and included characters from movies/TV too! As always these are in no particular order.

My Favorite Fictional Book Nerds

Ethan Wate from Beautiful Creatures – I was  pleasantly surprised when I read this series. Not only was this my first venture in reading a book from a male perspective, but that male was a book lover 😀 I don’t think this was portrayed in the movie version though.

Hermione Grainger from Harry Potter – the ultimate book nerd! Hermoine is my hero. The girl is described as constantly having her nose stuck in a book and I love it!

Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice – Lizzie is one of my all-time favorite characters for many reasons but being a fellow book nerd tops the list!

Bella Swan from Twilight – I think a lot of people forget Bella and her worn copy of Jane Austen classics! This girl was well read and enjoyed reading until a certain sparkly vampire took all of her attention.

Celeana Sardothien from Throne of Glass – I think I might have squealed aloud just a little when I read the chapter where the assassin was book shopping. That is so me!

Katy Swartz from Lux – I read this book last week and can I just say the author so gets us book bloggers!!! Katy is not only a fellow book nerd but book blogger as well and her reactions to getting new books in the mail closely resemble my own. There’s just nothing like a good book 😀

Echo from The Girl at Midnight – This was also a new read for me and the main character Echo is a book lover. So much so that she lives in a library and has read almost all the books they have!

Rory Gilmore from Gilmore Girls  I know, I know….Rory is from TV not a book but have you seen this show?! Rory puts most bookaholics to shame. I mean she carries a book in her purse….and not just one, a couple so she can read based on her mood whereever she may be. I adore her!

Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and ABC’s Once Upon a Time – Yes I know I’m technically cheating here. Belle is the same character in both shows, but I just love this character! Her love of books mirrors my own 😀

Your turn!

What are some of your favorite book nerds?

  1. Awesome list! I’ve seen a lot of buzz around the Girl at Midnight when it was first coming out but I never thought seriously about picking it up. Now I might have to. The character sounds very interesting! And of course, Hermione made my list! You’ve got great picks here!

  2. Great list here and some of my favs, for sure. Woohoo, for our list matching some. I cannot believe how many I forgot though that I love and didn’t include! And others that I couldn’t really figure out a way to include because Blogger was being a brat for me last night.

My Top Ten List ~ Happy Reading!

I had Hermione (obviously, I think she’s on everyone’s lists this week) and Celaena on my list this week and I also had Rory and Belle as bonus entries because I couldn’t leave them out!

  4. Great list! I also did mine on bookish characters but I focused on ones that I’d like to befriend! Belle and Elizabeth Bennet (obviously) made my list. I think Celeana would be a cool bookish character to befriend–as long as I don’t get on her bad side first 😂
