Mom - Waiting on Wed

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we are all eagerly anticipating.

This week I’m waiting on The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan. I have a confession to make…I’ve never read his series Percy Jackson & the Olympians. I know, I know what you are saying: “How could you have never read Percy Jackson?!” and “You call yourself a book blogger?!” Yes, I have never read this series. I hope to correct that soon though 😉 Preferably in time to read this new spin-off series! I love Greek mythology and I find it interesting how the author has combined it with modern day, creating a fun urban fantasy series for boys and girls alike.

How do you punish an immortal?

By making him human.

After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disorientated, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus's favour.

But Apollo has many enemies - gods, monsters and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go . . . an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.
