Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together
Happy Tuesday y’all! So far 2019 has been an amazing year of books. There are so many that have come out already that are waiting on my TBR to read. I’m not sure how I’ll ever get through them all 😅 This week’s topic is “Most Anticipated Release of the Second Half of 2019.” I had no problem coming up with ten for this week’s list, the problem arose in limiting it to only ten. Here are my top ten most anticipated releases during the second half of 2019, in order by release date. As always, covers link to Blog/Goodreads/Amazon(aff).
My Most Anticipated Releases of the 2nd Half of 2019
Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim (7/9): This book is described as Project Runway meets Mulan. While I’m not a fan of the first, I love the latter. I can’t wait to read this one.
The Storm Crow by Kalyn Josephson (7/9): While I despise crows (they are a nuisance around here), I’m intrigued by the premise of this story. The crows are magical elementals and all but extinct thanks to an invasion. Yet one girl finds an unhatched crow egg and hopes to bring them back. Man I love fantasy 😁
The Sin Soldiers by Tracy Auerbach (7/23): “Chemically controlled soldiers” has me hooked. This blurb promises a high-thrill, sci-fi dystopian. I cannot wait!
Sword and Pen by Rachel Caine (9/3): This is the 5th book in The Great Library series. I’m dying to know what is happening with my favorite characters. Smoke and Iron ended on a cliffhanger that’s left me questioning everything I know about the series. I need more asap!
Beard Necessities by Penny Reid (10/7): Finally!!! We are getting Billy’s story in the 6th Winston Brothers book. I love Billy and have been curious about this brother since the getgo. I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy of this one.
The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh (10/8): Vampires!!! Y’all vampires seem to be making a comeback and it makes me SO happy. I can’t wait to dive into this one. FYI for you YA readers, this book is being billed for adults/new adults.
The Burning Shadow by Jennifer L. Armentrout (10/8): More Luxen, more Origin story. I can’t wait to find out more about my favorite little hybrid Luc. I loved the first book in this spinoff series. If you haven’t read The Darkest Star, I highly recommend it.
The Guinevere Deception by Kiersten White (11/5): Y’all I’ll be honest for a sec. I didn’t even read the blurb for this one. I like White’s other books and Guinevere in the title suggests an Arthurian retelling. It’s all I need to know 😉
Crown of Oblivion by Julie Eshbaugh (11/12): The blurb for this one hooked me. It sounds like a cross between The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner. I can’t wait to read it!
Eight Will Fall by Sarah Harian (11/26): A “dark, high-octane adventure” is promised in the blurb for this one. Magic is outlawed and a band of rebels are given a mission that they aren’t expected to survive. It sounds like my kinda book.

Psst….check out my list for the first half of the year here!
I’ve been reading Penny Reid’s books lately and I see so many people (even my twitter timeline talks about it) loving the Winston Brothers series so I think I’ll be adding this series to next month’s TBR. I also recently just got back to JLA’s book world and I wanna get started on her Origin series. I love her writing so this might be a treat.

I’m not much into fantasy, so none of these are on my list today. Some of them sound REALLY good, though! I hope you love them all 🙂
Happy TTT!

Fantasy is definitely my go-to read 😉 But I always say “Read what makes you happy.”
YES YES YES TO ALL OF THESE BOOKS. I read pretty much everything but I definitely seem to lean more into fantasy books above all else. I’m honestly so beyond excited for The Guinevere Deception–I love Kiersten White’s writing so much and am looking forward to this one! Also, can I just say that your blog is so stunning? I’m over here just staring at your graphics and format like *heart eyes emoji* and ugh, so lovely!
