Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event originally created and hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we are all eagerly anticipating. Jill has been MIA since August of 2016. Despite this, the meme lives on….Hope you come back Jill! Until then I will be joining Tressa at Wishful Endings and her meme Can’t-Wait Wednesday.
Happy Wednesday y’all! This week I’m excitedly waiting on A Dress for the Wicked by Autumn Krause. I’m not sure why but this blurb reminds me of The Selection. There’s really not much the same. BUT the description of a competition and a country girl reminded me of America and her first days in the competition. This book however looks much darker and has a historical fantasy vibe to it. Personally I can’t wait!
A Dress for the Wicked by Autumn KrausePublished by HarperTEEN on 2019-08-06
Length: 400 pages
Nothing much happens in the sleepy town of Shy in Avon-upon-Kynt. And for eighteen years, Emmaline Watkins has feared that her future held just that: nothing.
But when the head of the most admired fashion house in the country opens her prestigious design competition to girls from outside the stylish capital city, Emmy’s dreams seem closer than they ever have before.
As the first “country girl” to compete, Emmy knows she’ll encounter extra hurdles on her way to the top. But as she navigates the twisted world of high fashion she starts to wonder: will she be able to tailor herself to fit into this dark, corrupted race? And at what cost?
