Happy Sunday y’all! It was a long week this week. My grandmother has not been doing well since we all had COVID and was hospitalized on Thursday. She’s stable, but her dementia symptoms have worsened exponentially with her illness. Just a few weeks ago, she could hold a conversation even if she may not have always recognized you. Now she’s not cognizant of anything going on around her. The goal right now is to get her over her illness so she can go to rehab and hopefully gain her strength back to come home, but that’s a long ways away.
Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary. Happy 18 years to us 🥂 My husband has been amazing through all of this letting me ramble on. He’s always been my rock.
Reading wise, it was going well at the beginning of the week, but I’ve tapered off. I finished two books early in the week and expect to finish another today.

sorry to hear about your grandmother. we lost my hubby’s grandmother back in april and she had dementia. the last two years have been rough because it came so quickly and severely.
I’m so sorry to hear that. I’m thankful we’ve had her this long and my son knows her. But this last week has been hard seeing her so sick. We are heading home with hospice today or tomorrow. 😔
Oof, hope your grandma recovers well. Been going through similar with mine, but she’s settled into a care home and doing really well there now.
Looks like a fun selection of new books!

Happy anniversary! I hope your grandmother gets better quickly. My grandma and step-grandma both had dementia. It does get worse after stressful situations.

I’m sorry about your grandma. My Mom had a mild case of COVID but it led her into dementia. She didn’t go to the hospital or anything. She will be 97 next week.
I’m excited to have you joining us on the Read-along. Have you read them before? They are new to me. You are up for the August review and the chat this Sunday?
Happy anniversary!

I think my grandmother’s hospitalization is related more to her refusing to eat or drink. It’s now been almost two weeks since she’s ate. She will be discharged today or tomorrow with hospice.
I’m looking forward to the read-along. I’ve read the first three books back when they first came out, so I’m rereading those and hope to finish the series. Chat this weekend will depend on my grandmother and her situation. And yes 🙌 I’m up for the August review.
