TTT #244 ~ If You Like This…Holiday Edition

Posted December 3, 2024 by Lillian in Features / 4 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together

Happy Tuesday y’all! Today’s topic is a freebie so I thought I’d recommend some of my favorite holiday reads that are similar to some of my favorite movies. As always, these are in no particular order. Covers and titles link to Blog, Goodreads, or Amazon (affiliate).

Book Cover for "In a Holidaze" by Christina Lauren

The first time I read In a Holidaze, I did so in one sitting, then immediately did a reread I liked it so much. Maelyn’s life has hit a roadblock, and as the holidays come to an end, she asks the universe to show her what will make her happy. A car crash later and Mae wakes up on a plane on her way to Utah where she spent the holiday to begin with. Disaster after disaster sends Mae back to the plane to repeat the holidays over and over again until she finds her happiness.

Book Cover for "Faking Christmas" by Kerry Winfrey

Faking Christmas is a cute rom-com about Laurel, a social media manager who also manages the social media accounts for her twin sister’s farm and business. A misunderstanding leaves her boss believing Laurel owns the farm. To keep her job, she lets the misunderstanding slide. However, this Christmas her boss invites himself to spend the holidays with her at the farm. Now Laurel needs a fake husband to get through one dinner and keep her job.

Book Cover for "Holiday Romance" by Catherine Walsh

I adored Holiday Romance! Molly and Andrew met ten years ago when sitting next to each other on a flight home to Ireland for the holidays. Now ten years later, they have since developed a friendship, catching up on each other up on their life once a year on that long plane ride home. But for the first time in those ten years, their flight is cancelled. Molly makes Andrew a promise that she’ll get him home in time for Christmas, but she doesn’t count on the feelings that bloom between them as they make the long journey home.

Book Cover for "Blame It on the Mistletoe" by Beth Garrod

If made-for-TV Disney movies of the 90s were made into a book, Blame It on the Mistletoe would be it! This is such a cute, fun, fluffy read. Elle is a social media star who decides to switch places with one of her followers for the holiday season in order to beef up her presence. Holly is that follower, and the two couldn’t be more different. I cannot recommend this one enough.

  1. Ooh cute theme! I am terrible when it comes to these as my movie tastes and book tastes are nearly polar opposite at times! Lol. I will watch a LOL comedy but then read a paranormal thriller! I can’t handle “watching” spooky things, they’re too over the top these days and I get nightmares easily! Lol. Even the early Supernatural episodes still give me the creeps! Lol. Great topic and picks though!!

    Here’s my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!
