Happy Sunday y’all! This week moved so slowly. We knew on Monday that we would be getting snow, which to this area means everything shuts down. We wound up moving any patients we had scheduled at the clinic to different days this week, making it a busy work week, but with the promise of a three day weekend. I didn’t get much reading done until the snow came and then finished two books in two days 😂 We got a little under four inches, so not as much as they originally predicted, but the danger was it froze overnight so icy roads over the weekend. We went no where and did nothing. I cleaned, put away our Christmas decorations, and read. My kind of weekend 🙂

You made a productive week with the challenges of this week. We just stayed in, although living in Minnesota for years means I have the clothes, equipment and experience to handle it. But I don’t trust the other drivers. We got maybe an inch. It didn’t all melt yet though. I’ve got All the Water in the World on hold at the library and I’m seeing it around.

Yeah, our community isn’t prepared for this kind of weather. We have one salt truck and one plow for the entire county 😅 Plus with all the hills and ridges, it’s not safe to drive especially with the ice. Thankfully the roads look like they are clearing up today. It’s still below freezing here, but it is supposed to warm on up this afternoon 🤞
I’m enjoying All the Water in the World so far. I’m about a quarter of the way through. It’s an interesting narrative choice. I can see it coming up for awards this year.
Now that I read the first Secrets of the Nile book by Isabel Ibanez, I know I need to read more of her books! We had lots of snow, with ice underneath, and basically I got an extra week of winter break with school being canceled all week. Just not looking forward to how they will make that up later. Hope you have a good week!

Same! The ice is what got us too. Thankfully it is warming up some here and starting to clear on the roads. Still have a lot on the ground though. Glad to hear you enjoyed Secrets of the Nile!
Love the cover for Kingdom of Faewood, going to have to check that book out! I hope you enjoy Together We Burn, its been sitting on my TBR for awhile now. 🥰

Yeah sounds like winter weather was everywhere this week! We had snow on Sunday into Monday causing society to shutdown completely! I was seeing updates from stores I follow on social media saying they would be closed, which doesn’t usually happen too much around here. But on occasion it does, although I was not expecting closures for the 2-3 days that they had! Wow! Luckily I don’t really go out during the week and my one signing wasn’t canceled so all was well here! We had ice mixed in with the snow for the first go around as well. What really sucked was not getting mail for a few days and THEN having got mail one day only for them to say they couldn’t deliver the next day because of “blockage” when they delivered with that same “blockage” in place. It irritated me since one of my missing packages was one of the things that they were supposed to deliver that day. Hoping they deliver tomorrow, but thinking there’s no longer any guarantees since they can pick and choose what days they will deliver and then blame us for their running behind and not wanting to be out late anymore.
Nice new reads! Those are all new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

You’ve got a lovely lot of books with glorious covers!! Here’s hoping the weather will be more reasonable next week, Lillian – and failing that, great reads to tuck into.
