Wool introduced the world of the silo. Shift told the story of its creation. Dust will describe its downfall. In order for a new world to begin, the old one must fall

Juliette, now mayor of Silo 18, doesn’t trust Silo 1, especially its leader, Donald. But in the world of the Silos, there is no black and white—everything is shades of gray. Donald may not be the monster Juliette thinks he is, and may in fact be key to humanity’s continued survival. But can they work together long enough to succeed?

In Dust, the final book in the New York Times best-selling Silo trilogy, the choices that Juliette and Donald make could lead to salvation . . . or to the death of everyone on the planet.

Fantastic conclusion to an awesome series. Dust by Hugh Howey is the final book in the Silo which brings us back to the present day and all the lies are about to come to light. Juliette is now the reluctant mayor of Silo 18. After nearly dying trying to return, Juliette wants to save her people and friends. She’s also desperate to get back to Solo and the kids, knowing they need help, but not knowing what it will cost all of them. In Silo 1, Donald is attempting to get Juliette’s trust by telling her everything: how and why the silos were created, what happens when people clean, and what the world is really like outside. It’s fast-paced and a brutal picture of humanity in a moment of desperation.

This was the perfect conclusion to the series. The story jumps around from Juliette in Silo 18 to Solo and the kids in Silo 17 and Donald in Silo 1. A lot is happening all at once with so many moving pieces. I found each story interesting as it told a bigger picture of how their reality began. At times, I wanted to throttle Juliette for being so stubborn and not listening. At others, I was thankful she didn’t listen and did what she thought was best for everyone. Donald is a whole other story. His addition to the series in book two was fantastic, and I loved seeing his story of rebellion in this one.

There is so much more I could say, but also so much I can’t because spoilers. Like the last book, I devoured this one, listening in just under 48 hours. The tension is at an all-time high which will keep you reading because you have to know what is coming next.

Overall, I loved Dust. It was everything I could have asked for in concluding this series. If you are a fan of dystopias, high-stakes tension, and humanity at the brink of extinction, I highly recommend it. Also, if you are an audio reader, I definitely recommend that format. The narrator is fantastic!
