Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at The Broke and the Bookish. They’d love to share their lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
It’s that time of the week again…this week’s topic for Top Ten Tuesday is “Top Ten Books People Have Been Telling You That You MUST Read (whether because they think it’s a “you” book or it’s just been generally recommended so often).” For me this week’s post will be very similar to last week’s. These are in no particular order, but the following books are books that I’ve heard over and over again from friends and family “You have to read this book!”
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
The Selection by Kiera Cass
The Maze Runner by James Dashner
The Giver by Lois Lowry
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
Cinder by Marissa Meyer
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
I didn’t looove the first two books in the Lunar Chronicles but CRESS is EXCELLENT. I’m a big fan of the Selection series. I didn’t love DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE but the writing was super good. THE BOOK THIEF and Percy Jackson made my list as well! Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Lillian, I will probably be burnt at the stake for saying this but I am not a big fan of Outlander. I read the first 2 but quickly lost interest in the series, I found it to be way too long and overdrawn. Haven’t read the Lunar Chronicles yet so can’t comment but Game of Thrones is a MUST READ 🙂
Michelle, I’ve heard that about Outlander which is why I’ve been so hesitant to start it! Game of Thrones I’ll eventually get too because I know I would like it, I guess the hype surrounding it and its length scared me off 😉
[…] Don’t Own Yet.” This one took a little bit of thinking for me, because as I confessed last week I’m the world’s worst one-clicker on Amazon. So I own way to many books, all of them I […]
Just bought Game of Thrones for my college-age son, and…he’s actually reading it. So huge props to George R. Martin! And the same day, I bought The Book Thief for myself because my college-aged daughter said the movie was soooo good. Nice list of must-reads!
