Weekend Reads

Hello my friends! I hope you are having a great weekend 😀 Most of you know that yesterday was moving day for me so I am scheduling this post in the hopes it gets out to you. Most likely I’m either sleeping, soaking in the bath or starting the arduous process of unpacking as you read this post. But just because I’m going to be MIA for a couple of weeks doesn’t give me an excuse to slack. SO some lovely bloggers have kindly offered to help me fill in the gaps with a feature that I’m calling “What’s Your Five.”

Those of you that have stuck it out with me may remember a post I did 2 years ago by the same name inspired by a question a friend posed to me on Facebook. Here was the original question and my snarky response:

Recently over on Mike Rowe’s page I saw someone ask him to “Please list 5 books (other than the Bible) you think everyone should have to read, and a brief explanation for each.” As I read his list, I started to think of my own. But, I love books so much. Trying to pick just five, just FIVE, is like trying to choose which fingers and toes I love most. I love then ALL. But, ask me to name some off the top of my head, the books I can think of first, in this moment, then here we go. I limited my list to fiction because that’s more fun. If you’re of a mind, I’d like to know your list.

The question stuck with me for a while and finally I decided to answer it properly and this post was born. Now I’ve asked other bloggers to do the same, limited to their favorite genres. You guys will be treated to lists from Young Adult, Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy, and Mystery/True Crime. The fun starts next week. Hope you will chime in with your own five.

Now I want to know: What’s your five? List them in the comments for me so I can add them to my TBR.

  1. Hm. This is a difficult one! What about the people who cannot stand reading fiction? Or those who hate non-fiction? Or those who just hate reading?? Do we sit them down and FORCE them to read these offerings? That said, perhaps they could be strongly recommended:))
