Happy Sunday y’all! So I know I’ve been MIA the last two weeks and I’ve got SO much to tell you. First thank you to everyone who wished my mother-in-law well. She is doing great, no more episodes, and we are just waiting on her follow up with cardiology. She got to go home relatively quickly. However, not to be outdone, my husband had a syncopal episode on me two weeks ago (the Monday after my MIL got to go home). This resulted in him having a seizure and scaring me half to death. He jokes that I have PTSD from the experience because he honestly doesn’t remember it. I think he’s right 😉 Long story short, the hospital ran every test they could and everything came back normal. They diagnosed him with “convulsive syncope” which is just a fancy way of saying his blood pressure was SO low that it caused the seizure. Unfortunately for him (and I guess me too) because it was a seizure, he cannot drive for the next 6 months.

Sheesh, y’all just typing all that is making me exhausted. The last two weeks have been an adjustment for us, and my nerves are shot. Every noise at night wakes me and I check on my husband. Every time he stands up, I watch to make sure he does it slowly. I know that logically I’m being ridiculous, but I keep flashing to that moment when he seized, and y’all it was terrifying. I never want to see him like that again.

Reading wise, the last two weeks have not been so great. I’ve DNFed the last 3 out of 5 reads. Thank God for two of my auto buy authors who had new releases the last two weeks. I devoured those and they were 5 stars for me 😀

  1. I am glad your Mother in Law is doing better and I saw your post about your husband. I am glad it was nothing serious but still…that would have scared me too. My husband has MS and I am always watching him to make sure I don’t see signs of it coming back. It makes me so nervous.

Sorry about the DNF, I had one this month also.

I hope this week is a lot better for you 🙂 Happy Reading! ox

  2. I’m so glad your MIL went home. How scary for you! I would feel the exact same way! I hope the new adjustment to being chauffeur isn’t too terrible of a transition. I know it must be hard, but you get to spend quality time together in the car. Please take a few moments for yourself to breathe and relax.

  3. Oh no! I am so sorry to hear about your scare with your husband. I would be the same way, still worried about him. You have to be exhausted physically and mentally after your week, be sure and not over do it. {hugs} Hope you have a better week ahead.

  4. Wow. That’s insane! Glad your MIL is doing well, as well as your husband! That’s insane!!

I hope this week will prove to be a little less eventful and stressful! But yay for Legendary!! I read that one already and it was amazing!!! I hope you enjoy all your fantastic new reads!
