August saw the end of three reading challenges: ARC August, Can You Read a Series in a Month, and #COYER Summer Vacation. Honestly I didn’t do so well with these challenges, especially the first two. I way underestimated my lack of time this summer with our move and little man starting school. Oh well, you win some, you lose some I guess 😀
#COYER 2016 Summer Vacation
For this challenge, you just had to read. Anything and everything counted! The rules are pretty much out the window during the summer COYER which I was thankful for. I challenged myself to read 20 books over the three months and I managed to read 26 total and reviewed on the blog 21 of those. This is the only challenge I can honestly say I completed this Summer ?
- The Azure Kingdom by Michelle Dare
- Mechanical Hearts by Nicole Blanchard
- Game Master by Scarlett Dawn
- The Judas Contact by Heather Long
- The Angel Knights by Mary Ting
- Defy by Sara B. Larson
- City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
- A Mortal Song by Megan Crewe
- Paper Princess by Erin Watt
- Broken Prince by Erin Watt
- Saven: Defiance by Siobhan Davis
- The Chosen Knights by Mary Ting
- Last Kiss of Summer by Marina Adair
- Deadly Genesis by Heather Long
- Chasing Fireflies by Taylor Dean
- The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski
- The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski
I love this challenge! I’m already looking forward for the Winter COYER which starts around Dec. 18th.
2016 ARC August
For this challenge, you were supposed to read only ARCs, any review copy and review it. I failed! I challenged myself to 10 books, thinking that surely I could do this as I usually average around 3-4 books a week. I did not account for little man starting school and the early wake up call causing me to fall asleep whenever I sat still. I only managed to read and review 7 out of 10 ARCs. Originally I had challenged myself to read 10 from my Netgalley pile. Unfortunately only 1 of my 7 came from Netgalley. Sad of me I know….

- The Angel Knights by Mary Ting

Can You Read a Series in a Month?
The answer to that question is apparently no I can not! I’ve never had this issue before and I really do blame my lack of planning on not being able to read a three book series. I had you guys vote and the winner was The Winner’s Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski, which has been amazing so far! However I only managed to read the first two books last month, and as you can see in my currently reading widget, I’m still reading the last book. I royally failed this challenge!
Did you participate in any of these challenges last month? How did you do? Share below
You did awesome for COYER and I totally understand Can you read a series. I failed that one too. That one is a lot harder than it seems. I am determined to finish a series next time 🙂

Me too!!! So looking forward to it. I love series binge reads. I just didn’t plan well this time.
I’ve been following this one with interest. I appreciate that you may have failed to fulfil the challenge you set yourself – but you still read 26 books and reviewed 21. And you moved. And you have a small person who needs a lot of your time… Actually, I think you’ve managed awesomely. Sometimes, we are not kind enough to ourselves. I’m betting if you saw those stats against a friend’s post, who had also undergone your life-changing circumstances, you would be admiring and enthusiastic about their achievement:).
Awe thank you!!! That is so encouraging to hear. ❤️
