Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we are all eagerly anticipating.
This week I’m eagerly waiting on Defy the Stars by Claudia Gray. I LOVED the Firebird trilogy by this author, I mean I cannot say enough good things about it. SO when I saw that she had a new book coming out AND it’s a YA sci-fi I may have fangirled….just a little 😉 First, just look at that cover. Isn’t it gorgeous?! And the blurb: “stranded in space on an abandoned ship where she meets Abel, the most sophisticated mech prototype ever made.” I’m getting Battlestar Galatica vibes, anyone else? I cannot wait….only 69 days til it hits shelves….but I’m not counting or anything. Want more info on the book? Check out Nerdophiles interview with the author here.

Series: Untitled #1
on 2017-04-04
Length: 512 pages

Noemi Vidal is a teen soldier from the planet Genesis, once a colony of Earth that's now at war for its independence. The humans of Genesis have fought Earth's robotic "mech" armies for decades with no end in sight.
After a surprise attack, Noemi finds herself stranded in space on an abandoned ship where she meets Abel, the most sophisticated mech prototype ever made. One who should be her enemy. But Abel's programming forces him to obey Noemi as his commander, which means he has to help her save Genesis--even though her plan to win the war will kill him.
Together they embark on a daring voyage through the galaxy. Before long, Noemi begins to realize Abel may be more than a machine, and, for his part, Abel's devotion to Noemi is no longer just a matter of programming.
What are you not-so-patiently waiting on this Wednesday?
I’ve seen this one a couple of places today and since I’m trying to read more science fiction, it does look like a good read.

I definitely like this cover more than the early ARC one I saw! It’s weird since usually once I see the ARC cover I fall immediately in love with that one…if history has anything to say about it! Lol! Hope you enjoy this one!
