Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event originally created and hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we are all eagerly anticipating. Jill has been MIA since August of 2016. Despite this, the meme lives on….Hope you come back Jill! Until then I will be joining Tressa at Wishful Endings and her meme Can’t-Wait Wednesday.
Happy Wednesday y’all! This week I’m anxiously waiting on Fireblood by Elly Blake. I fell in love with Ruby and her dystopian, fantasy world in Frostblood earlier this year. I can’t tell you how excited I am that I don’t have to wait an entire year to find out what will happen to her, what the Minax’s plan is, and see how Arcus will handle his new role. I enjoyed every aspect of the first so I’m equal parts excited and nervous to read this book. I want to know more about the Sudesia, but I’m not excited about Kai and the potential love triangle the blurb hints at. I guess we’ll see in September 😀
Fireblood by Elly BlakeSeries: The Frostblood Saga #2
on 2017-09-12
Length: 416 pages
In this action-packed sequel to Frostblood, the future of Ruby's world and a court ruled by the love of her life depends on the uncovered secrets of her past..
Against all odds, Ruby has defeated the villainous Frost King and melted his throne of ice. But the bloodthirsty Minax that was trapped inside is now haunting her kingdom and everyone she loves. The answers to its demise may lie to the south in Sudesia, the land of the Firebloods, and a country that holds the secrets to Ruby's powers and past....
Despite warnings from her beloved Arcus, Ruby accompanies a roguish Fireblood named Kai to Sudesia, where she must master her control of fire in a series of trials to gain the trust of the suspicious Fireblood queen. Only then can she hope to access the knowledge that could defeat the rampaging Minax--which grows closer every moment. But as sparks fly in her moments alone with Kai, how can Ruby decide whom to trust? The fate of both kingdoms is now in her hands.

I love it when I know what book a series is in by looking at the cover. I guess I’m all about consistency. I’ve not read the first in this series but I hope to do so soon. Great feature and thanks for the book recommendation over at Booker T’s Farm.

I’m the same way! I love it when they look pretty together on a shelf 😀
Anytime! I hope you enjoy it. Cooper has some sweet contemporary romances and all her characters have dogs. The Nashville series is another good one by her.
I haven’t read the first book yet, but I hope you continue to enjoy the series!

The words ‘love triangle’ tend to set my teeth on edge! It seems that authors can’t get enough of this trope. Aspects of this sound interesting but I think the various love interests might annoy me! The covers for this series are very eyecatching I must admit. Hope you’ll enjoy this one too! Thanks for stopping by my post…
There was no triangle in the first but the blurb definitely alludes to one in this book and I’m leery of it. Hoping it turns out ok ?
I really, really, really need to read the first book in this series. It sounded so good and I picked it up but I have yet to read it. Great choice!

I’m hoping it’s as good as the first. I loved Frostblood! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
I’ve been meaning to read this series! It sounds really interesting. Great pick and thanks for stopping by 🙂
Hope you enjoy it as much as the first book. And hoping that there isn’t much of a love triangle. Sounds like an interesting series. Thanks for sharing it!
Sooooooooooo cannot wait to read this one! Loved Frostblood!

I have the first book in the series, but I never read it. I guess it is good if you want to read the second one. I will have to give it some attention.

I really enjoyed Frostblood. I had received an advanced copy but didn’t get a chance to read it before it came out so I grabbed an audible copy and enjoyed listening to it. Hope you enjoy it 😀
Sounds like a good series. I’ll have to check out the first book.
EPIC cover, and now I must find out more about this series — I hadn’t seen it before (I don’t think!)

Frostblood is the first and came out in January so you may not have 😉 I really enjoyed it. It’s a high fantasy, dystopia.
This author and series are both new to me. I will have to check it out on Goodreads. I hope you enjoy the second book as much as the first. Thanks for stopping by my WoW and sharing.

This is definitely an AMAZING pick, Lillian!! I can’t wait for this one myself! (And yes, I do need to start the series, lol.)
I also LOVE that cover!! It’s my favorite in the series so far.
Thanks for sharing!! And thanks as well for commenting on my CWW post!! Have a WONDERFUL weekend!! <3 🙂
Yes, I definitely can’t wait to read this one. I had a few mixed feelings about the first book in the series, but the way it left off has me dying to get my hands on the next book. Great pick!

Me too! I listened to it on Audible and cannot wait to get a copy of this one as well!
I remember seeing Elly’s first book in this series, but haven’t read it. Thanks for reminding me of its existence – I may have to add it to my next Amazon order. 🙂
Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland, Lillian.
