It will take a Christmas miracle to melt her heart.

Resort developer Madison Lane is about to lose the one thing she loves most in the world—her job. Dubbed "The Grinch Who Killed Christmas," Madison spoiled a deal that would turn quaint Christmas, Colorado, into a tourist's winter wonderland. Now the citizens want her fired but the company gives her one last chance, sending Madison to the small town to restore the holiday cheer.

For Sheriff Gage McBride, no hotshot executive from New York City is going to destroy the dreams of the people he loves. But one look at this beautiful woman and it's his heart that may be broken. In just a few days, Madison causes more trouble than he's had to deal with all year. He can't decide if she's naughty or nice, but one thing is for certain—Christmas will never be the same again...

The book that started it all! The Trouble with Christmas by Debbie Mason is the first book in her series Christmas Colorado and perhaps my favorite of the entire series. The little town of Christmas has never seen anyone like Madison Lane, and the trouble she brings with her keeps Sheriff Gage McBride on his toes. I fell in love with this small town, its sheriff and the Grinch sent to tear it all down.

Madison Lane is a resort developer, and when her deal with the town of Christmas, Colorado falls through, her boss gives her one chance to seal the deal or lose her job. Known to the townfolk as “The Grinch Who Killed Christmas,” Madison has her work cut out for her. I felt for her instantly. She hates Christmas, but the reasons for it will break your heart. Madison is kind and caring, and the longer she is in the small town, the more these people grow on her. She doesn’t want to be their Grinch. So she must fight for a compromise that will benefit both her company and the town.

Then there’s Gage. I love him! He’s a single dad with two young girls. While he’s ready to move on with his life, he also isn’t. But one look at the beautiful Grinch, and he’s already lost his heart to her. She challenges him and doesn’t need a knight in shining armor, but he’s willing to be just that if she’ll let him.

I read this series all out of order! I started with book five and read from there, and I’m just now getting around to reading the rest of the books (again out of order!). While they don’t have to be read in order, each is a standalone, I do think they are best enjoyed in the order written. Characters and couples from the other books pop up and play big roles throughout the series. So even though the ending was spoiled for me because I’d read other books, I still loved reading Gage and Madison’s story.

Overall I really enjoyed The Trouble with Christmas. Gage and Madison fit that enemies-to-lovers trope, and I love seeing how they break down the walls around each other’s hearts. The small town setting is one of my favorites, and this particular small town is my favorite! I love the magic of Christmas the author infuses the story with. If you enjoy sweet, contemporary romance, I highly recommend it!
