TTT #209 – Most Anticipated Books of 2022, Part 1

Posted January 4, 2022 by Lillian in Features / 23 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together

Happy Tuesday y’all! Today’s topic is “Most Anticipated Books Releasing In the First Half of 2022.” It was really hard to narrow this list down to ten. There are so many good books coming out this year! I can’t wait to visit everyone’s list and see what they picked. As always, covers/titles link to blog, Goodreads, or Amazon (affiliate link) and are in order by publication date.

My Most Anticipated Books During the First Half of 2022

Frozen Hearts and Death Magic by Day Leitao (Jan. 22nd): This book looks amazing! Also this from the blurb: “telenovela-inspired,” why yes please! Sign me up. Fae and magic and intrigue…I can’t get enough of this combo. This will be my first Leitao book, but she comes highly recommended so I’m excited 😊

House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J. Maas (Feb. 15th): Maas is a go-to, auto-buy author for me. I’ve read and enjoyed all of her books. The first Crescent City is one of my favorites of hers. I cannot wait to read more from this world. If you enjoy paranormal romance and urban fantasy, I highly recommend it.

Bright Ruined Things by Samantha Cohoe (Feb. 15th): Cohoe’s debut novel hooked me, and I cannot wait to read her sophomore novel. I have high hopes. Her blend of mystery and fantasy is seamless, and this one looks amazing. Magic fuel, a party, 1920s vibes from the cover….I cannot wait!

A Forgery of Roses by Jessica S. Olson (Mar. 29th): Gothic mystery is something I don’t read a lot of. However, this one’s pretty cover attracted me and then I read the blurb. Magic tattoo art that can change a person’s body? I mean, this sounds exactly like my kind of read.

Hotel Magnifique by Emily J. Taylor (Apr. 5th): I devoured the Caraval series. This one is compared to it, and after reading the blurb, I can see why. It sounds amazingly dark and fascinating, maybe a little magical as well. I’ll be interested to see what others have to say about it.

The No-Show by Beth O’Leary (Apr. 12th): I am hooked to O’Leary’s books. She hooked me with The Roadtrip which was one of my favorite reads last year. This one is about three separate women who are stood up on a date by the same man. I expect tears and laughter and a satisfying ending 😉

Book Lovers by Emily Henry (May 3rd): Last year I became hooked to Henry’s writing. I’ve since read all of her books and cannot wait for her newest release. This one is about a book publicist and a rival editor.

Rise of the Snake Goddess by Jenny Elder Moke (June 7th): I loved the first book in this series about Samantha Knox. Set in the 1920s, these mysteries are filled with twists and turns plus a little romance and friendship. I’m excited for their next mystery.

Rise of the Vicious Princess by CJ Redwine (June 14th): Redwine is one of my favorite authors so it’s a no wonder I included her next release on this list. The blurb reminds me a little of Romeo & Juliet, but with a new flair. I cannot wait to dive into this one!

Blade Breaker by Victoria Aveyard (June 28th): While I was underwhelmed by the first book in this series, I was intrigued enough to want to read more. The ending is what really hooked me. I love all the different characters and how the author has tied them together. I can’t wait to see the next step in their adventure.

  1. I have so many of these books on my TBR! Although I’m hesitant to read the next book in the Realm Breaker series, since book 1 felt like I read the entire thing and nothing actually happened! I’m a bit nervous of actually reading the next book because of that.

  2. Oooh nice picks! I can’t wait for HOSAB either! Though I am trying to think of what holiday weekend I can save that for to have optimum reading time! Lol!! Hotel Magnifique made me list too! Also can’t wait to read Rise of the Vicious Princess either!

    Thanks for visiting my TTT!
