Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together
Happy Tuesday y’all! Today’s topic is “Books With Your Favorite Trope/Theme.” I have several favorite tropes that I enjoy reading so it was hard to narrow down. That being said, one of my all time favorites in the romance genre is celebrity/rock star with the girl/boy next door. I’m a sucker for them. Below are a few of my favorites from this trope in no particular order. As always, titles/covers link to Blog, Goodreads, or Amazon (affiliate).
Top Ten Celebrity Romances
- Spoiler Alert by Olivia Dade
I just read this one last month, and I’m currently reading All the Feels. I loved this one. I enjoyed the fanfic incorporation, but I also loved the relationship between the two main characters: a popular actor and a plump and pretty scientist. It’s a fun read! - Cinder & Ella by Kelly Oram
This is one of my all-time favorite books, and one of the first I reviewed for the blog. I reread this one at least once a year, sometimes twice. It never ceases to leave me smiling. This is a sweet romance about two penpals, one is a blogger and the other an actor. - A is For Abstinence by Kelly Oram
Another Kelly Oram book…she’s a favorite 😉 This one is actually the sequel to V is For Virgin and told from the rock star’s POV. I love this duology. The characters are fun and flirty, and the banter is everything in this series. - Homecoming King by Penny Reid
I might be stretching it a bit by adding this one, but I couldn’t resist. The love interest in this one is a professional football player so he counts as a celeb in my opinion 😉 This one is full of the humor and heart I’ve come to expect from Reid. I devoured it and highly recommend it. - #Starstruck by Sariah Wilson
A tweet starts this romantic comedy, and I adored it. This is another one that the banter makes the book. I loved these two characters and loved the dual POV. - Grin and Beard It by Penny Reid
This is the second book in the Winston Brothers series and my second favorite from the series (no one beats Cletus, sorry). In this one, the quiet older brother finds himself falling for the movie star who has come to town to film. I devoured this one, and I have reread it once or twice 😉 - When It’s Real by Erin Watt
I loved this one! This one features a rock star with a bad reputation and the girl next door who’s hired to help clean up his image. The romance is sweet, a slow build that explodes, and BANTER. Love these two! - Geekerella by Ashley Poston
This was a fun read centered around a convention (think like ComicCon). I think I liked the setting and how it applied to the plot more than anything else. I also liked how the two love interests wind up together. - If the Shoe Fits by Julie Murphy
This is another one that I’m pushing my luck by adding. The setting and plot for this one is centered around a Bachelor-esque type show. I loved this premise. The Bachelor isn’t actually a celebrity, but heir to a fashion empire and looking to settle down. It made for a fun read. - Driven by K. Bromberg
It’s been years since I read this book (pre-blogging days), but it has stuck with me. The love interest here is a famous race care driver. While his fame doesn’t come up much in the books, it is addressed and even becomes a plot point in the second book.

Geekerella looks like a fun read.

Those first 7 are some of my favorites in this trope. I’m going to have to read those last 3!

This IS a fun trope, although I can’t think of any books I’ve read that would fit in this category. Hmmm…
Happy TTT!
