Happy Sunday y’all! What a week! I feel like I accomplished so much and yet have nothing to show for it. I’m working on finding a routine that works for me. I’ve struggled since we started homeschooling almost three years ago to find a system to manage all the things I need to do: schoolwork, housework, work, social, blog, etc. Most days I feel overwhelmed to the point that I procrastinate to the next day, and then the work piles on and something falls off, usually the blog and any social media posts I should be doing. My house currently looks like a disaster zone, and I’m embarrassed to admit that I still have two Christmas trees up (yep since November of last year 🤦‍♀️) that at this point might as well stay where they are at until this Christmas.

So to motivate myself, I spent a day this week creating to-do lists. Most of the items recur (like laundry or certain bills to pay). The goal, and my current thought process, is that as I check off items, I will be motivated to do more. Because checking them off means I did something, and having that visual seems like a good idea. I’ll keep you posted 😉 AND if you have any tips, I’d love to hear them 😀

Reading wise, I’ve struggled. We had COVID when we came home from vacation, and I had it the worst of the three of us. Thankfully, after a couple of crappy weeks, I’m feeling better, but my focus SUCKS. I can read maybe two pages before my mind starts wandering. I’m not sure how much of that is post-COVID or post-steroids 🤦‍♀️ So yeah, reading hasn’t been the greatest. I did finish an audiobook this week (go me!), and I’m currently in the middle of two other books (an ebook that I can read in bed and a physical copy for during the day). I created an #angiesway list for this month earlier in the week, and I’m hoping to stay close to those goals. *fingers crossed*

  1. I don’t have a specific tip other than noticing the amount of time things like cooking, laundry, dishes, cleaning etc take and even if you cross them off they are back on the list again in a day or two or a week. That’s the difficult part about it since it doesn’t feel like you get credit or make progress. My career work on the other hand had specific tasks and goals and things that could be completed. I have goals or plans for the blog and it works a bit like that. I finish something and I can cross it off.

So I guess I do have a tip. No matter how busy you are with the repetitive stuff, pick something blog or otherwise where you can feel you accomplished and spend a short time on that daily or weekly, so you can feel the accomplishment.

I hope you’ll feel better soon.
