Down The TBR Hole is a meme originally created by Lia @ Lost in a Story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there. Lia is no longer blogging, so Jody @ I’m Into Books has taken over. Be sure to join the linky on her site!
Happy Saturday y’all! I’m back and ready to continue my journey down the TBR hole today. As of writing this post, my current Goodreads TBR shelf has 278 books on it; my physical shelf, my ARC shelf, and Kindle TBR shelf have more than I care to share at this time (mainly because I don’t want to count them). Want to join me?
It works like this:
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly (or monthly like me), you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the blurbs of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
I will only being doing this once a month, typically the first Saturday. And I’m probably going to do 10 or more each time. I’m starting with my Goodreads TBR. I’d like to leave only books I plan to read on there and remove all the others. I started this journey on a TTT post. You can follow the journey here: Down the TBR Hole.
Post-apocalyptic worlds are things I love in my fantasy books 😉 I picked up a copy of this series at UtopiaCon a few years ago where I was able to meet the author and have it signed. Now I need to read them!
Verdict: STAYS
At one time, I had the entire series in hardback, but as I never had the chance to read them and was never really interested in doing so, they were donated and given away. While the premise of the book sounds great, I’m 99.9% sure I added it to my TBR to read prior to the movie, which I’ve yet to see. I think it’s time to say goodbye to it.
Verdict: GOES
Pimpernel: Royal Ball by Sheralyn Pratt
I LOVED the first book in this series, devouring it in one sitting and picking it as one of my top reads that year. Somehow I missed that a second book was coming, and I never got around to reading it. One of these days, I plan to go back and read book one and binge the series….
Verdict: STAYS
The Library of Fates by Aditi Khorana
This book came in a monthly book box with annotations from the author. I am a sucker for fantasy inspired by other cultures. This is one of those books that will remain on my TBR until I have the time to devote to it properly….hopefully sooner rather than later.
Verdict: STAYS
I actually have the entire trilogy on my TBR….I love the show and didn’t realize it was based on a book so now of course I HAVE to read it 😉 Have any of you seen the show and read the books? How does it stand up? Will I be pleasantly surprised or sorely disappointed?
Verdict: STAYS
Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte
I picked this one up on as a Kindle daily deal a few years ago, and it just slipped through the cracks. It sounds right up my alley: political intrigue, forbidden romance, mystery & suspense. I think I’ll move this one up and get to it soonish 😀
Verdict: STAYS
Dark Shores by Danielle L. Jensen
I love a good pirate fantasy, and this one has the makings of that. I remember adding it to my TBR prior to it coming out and being SO excited for the release. But then life happened, and I never got a chance to read it. Because of its rave reviews, I think I’ll keep it around.
Verdict: STAYS
I’m seeing a pattern….another pretty fantasy cover featuring a boat 😀 I remember adding this one to my TBR and even purchasing a copy back in 2019 on Kindle. The comparison to The Selection and Caraval is what sold it to me. So it stays.
Verdict: STAYS
Over the last few years, I’ve been making my way through Bond’s backlist. I fell in love with her writing after reading Things That Should Stay Buried. However, this book found its way onto my TBR for an entirely different reason: VAMPIRES. They are my favorite paranormal creature to read about; I love the horror element they add to any story that they are featured in. Moving this one up to read asap.
Verdict: STAYS
Tracey Ward is an auto-buy author for me. I love her Quarantine series (zombies if you’re interested), and have been hooked to her writing ever since. This one is set 100 years after a plague divides the world in half. I already own it. Now I just need to make time for it 😀
Verdict: STAYS

I haven’t read any of these, but a few are on my TBR. I need to read something by Casey Bond. I follow her on Facebook and keep seeing all her beautiful new books!
