Happy Sunday y’all! This week was both short and long if that is even possible 😅 We started our spring semester of homeschool. Liam is half way through his first year of middle school, and while he is excelling, he is also pushing the boundaries. He’s a good kid, just doesn’t want to do the school work or any work for that matter. It’s the age, I know. We did compromise with him last week though. His hormones have started in full swing, his voice has changed, and with that, his sleep patterns have been disrupted. So we made a deal with him; he could stay up after his scheduled bedtime and read in bed. No TV or other electronics, but any book he wants to read until he is sleepy. So far it’s working. He’s also on his fourth book already this week 🙌 I call that a win 😀
My own reading is also going well. I managed to listen to two audiobooks this week and finish one NetGalley arc. I’m hoping by the time this post goes live to have finished at least one more. I did DNF my first book of the year this week. It just wasn’t working for me. I think it was more a case of “it’s me, not you.” It was more YA than even I could stomach.

Oh, gotta love that middle school age! I used to teach them! But honestly, compared to high schoolers, most of the time I would pick middle school age. Well Played is a good one! I need to get my hands on the last book in the series that came out, but am trying to stop buying so many books for a bit. Hope you have a good week!

I’m loving Well Played so far. Stacey is a fun character. 💗
Glad to hear the homeschooling is continuing to go well. Not entirely sure if my sister will go the route for her little ones. She goes back and forth on it it seems. Time will only tell, as one is nearing preschool age and the other will be two in the coming months.
Nice new reads! I’m still waiting on my copies of Hell Bent to arrive. I still need to read Ninth House too to be honest. But now I can binge the two books at least! Lol! I still need to read that Jeaniene Frost novella too! I bought the anthology it was originally in as I love all three of the authors in it, but just haven’t had time to pick it up it seems!
Hope you enjoy all of your lovely new reads!

We did the same, went back and forth about homeschooling. He attended a private school through 2nd grade, and we pulled him out mid way through 3rd. We’re in our third year now of homeschooling, and I love it. There’s a lot of freedom in choosing how to teach the material so that it best fits his learning style. Where he struggled and hated school (to the point of making himself sick every morning), he now loves it and willingly does extra lessons. If your sister ever has any questions, I’d be happy to answer. Another homeschool mom was that for me, and it made all the difference 💗
I wish I’d waited to binge them together. That cliffhanger in Ninth House was killer 😅
That’s a definite win and a great idea for your child.

He’s loving it, that’s for sure! And I love that he’s reading without me telling him to do so.
I agree with Sherry. A great idea!
