Happy Sunday y’all! The first week of the new year flew by as it always does. My Christmas decorations are still out (though those will probably come down today). I’ve been filling my week with work, reading, and prepping to start the spring semester with my son. He’s 7th grade now and more independent with his work, so his schooling takes more study on my part ahead of time that way I’m prepared to discuss with him what he’s learning. We’re studying world history this year and will be finishing up with the fall of the Roman empire this week. So far, this has been his favorite year of school (his words not mine). I picked a curriculum that is heavy on reading which, like me, he thankfully loves. Reading wise, it was a good week. I finished one book and one audiobook and may finish my current read today…we’ll see.

Our inside Christmas decor came down last weekend! We still have out all our inflatables and lights though because it’s been either too cold or rainy. Hoping to get them down this week sometime. Flower and Thorn has such a pretty cover!! I hope you have a lovely week!

Love the cover of Flower and Thorn! I took my Christmas stuff down on Saturday. While I enjoyed the decorations, I’m now realizing how much more space I have when they’re not up, lol. Hope you have a good week!

A productive week for you. I’m alternating between ARCS and freebie / library reads. Midweek I expect to take a heavy swing back to upcoming ARCs. Our tree is still up and haven’t even thought about taking it down but we didn’t get it until mid December.

Our tree is still up but I’ve put away all the decorations. So it’s just the tree and lights which is a nice little transition into the new year. I’ll take it down by next weekend. It is going to get very cold by us, so we may or may not get our outside decorations down before it’s too cold. I’m currently blazing through the book The Second Chance Year.
Glad the year is off to a good start! Our decorations came down last weekend as my mom was wanting her house back to normal. Hoping I can find my own place this year so that I can leave my own up for a little longer! Lol.
Nice new reads! These are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS

While I could never homeschool, I always admire those moms who do. (I also don’t have kids so it doesn’t matter, lol.) The history that he’s learning sounds like a lot of fun. Have a great week!
