Down The TBR Hole is a meme originally created by Lia @ Lost in a Story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there. Lia is no longer blogging, so Jody @ I’m Into Books has taken over. Be sure to join the linky on her site!
Happy Saturday y’all! I’m back and continuing my journey down the TBR hole today. As of writing this post, my current Goodreads TBR shelf has 262 books on it; my physical shelf, my ARC shelf, and Kindle TBR shelf have more than I care to share at this time (mainly because I don’t want to count them). Want to join me?
It works like this:
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly (or monthly like me), you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the blurbs of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
I will only being doing this once a month, typically the first Saturday. And I’m probably going to do 10 or more each time. I’m starting with my Goodreads TBR. I’d like to leave only books I plan to read on there and remove all the others. I started this journey on a TTT post. You can follow the journey here: Down the TBR Hole.
Meet Me in Paradise by Libby Hubscher
I read and loved this author’s book If You Ask Me. I enjoyed it so much that I immediately looked for others she’d written and added them to my TBR. Now to just find time for them….For now, I think it’s time to say bye.
Verdict: GOES
Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
This book has been recommended to me more times than I can count. I love fantasies, but I’m skeptical of this one. I haven’t been able to find a copy at the library (always out), however it is currently in KU so I’m going to give it a go.
Verdict: STAYS
This was one of my most anticipated books in 2023, and I’m ashamed to say I didn’t get a chance to read it. I’m hoping to read it soon as I own a copy already and absolutely loved book one.
Verdict: STAYS
Shattered Midnight by Dhonielle Clayton
I added this one after finishing the first book in the series, Broken Wish. However, I don’t really know why I added it. I liked the first one okay, but not really enough to continue the series.
Verdict: GOES
A Million to One by Adiba Jaigirdar
I’m not really sure when I added this one to my TBR. Most likely, I saw it on another blogger’s waiting on Wednesday post. It does sound like a fun read, however not really my kind of read. So it goes.
Verdict: GOES
The Purple Prince by Sebastien Menkes
Again, I’m not sure when I added this one to my TBR, but it did catch my eye when I was looking at it again. I love a good fantasy adventure. This one looks to be that. However, it’s the only book out by this author, it says it is the start of a series, and was released in 2022….Not sure if it is being continued and I hate being left hanging….
Verdict: GOES
The Stolen Heir by Holly Black
I purposefully put off reading this one until the duology was complete because, again, I do not like being left to hang. Now that it is and I have both books in my possession, I just need a few days to binge them 😀
Verdict: STAYS
Alice in La La Land by Kelly Oram
I love Kelly Oram. She is one of my auto-buy authors. Sadly, I’m behind in reading her new books. I think I need to squeeze this one in asap.
Verdict: STAYS
Best Served Hot by Amanda Elliot
This looks like a cute contemporary romance about two food critics. While I can see the appeal and why I added it to my TBR in the first place, I just don’t read that much contemporary romance. Basically it only happens when the mood strikes. So this one goes.
Verdict: GOES
Technically, this one does not have a release date or cover yet. However, I loved the first two books in this series and cannot wait to read this one. So it stays.
Verdict: STAYS

I enjoyed Best Served Hot. I read less contemporary romance but I like the foodie ones. I am looking forward to Prom King.

I typically like the foodie ones as well. I may wind up giving it a shot.
