Happy Sunday y’all! I took an unexpected break from the blog for most of July and August. But I’m back now 🙂 The end of July, first of August is always a busy time for me, especially since we started homeschooling. I spend most of July prepping for the new school year, and then we are busy the first few weeks of school while we find our new routine.
Little man has started 9th grade this year and is settling in to our routine just fine. He seems to be enjoying it more this year. He saw a news article about a local school system who last year trialed four day school weeks in one school. It went so well that they adopted it for the whole system this year. It does take the school year from 36 to 45 weeks. Liam decided he wanted to try it out this year, and I was all for it. So far it is going great. It’s nice to have a break on Fridays and a day to catch up if needed already built into the schedule.
While I haven’t had much time to write blog posts, I have still made time to read. Reading has gone well the last few months. This week I managed to finish three books, two of those were audiobooks which seems to be becoming my preferred format.

Oh nice! Glad things are going well so far for the new school year! A 4 day school week all the time would’ve been nice growing up! I lived for those Friday or Mondays off! Lol.
Can’t wait for your thoughts on Haunted Ever After! I have that one in my TBR pile as it sounded cute! I love a cozy paranormal romance with ghosts and mysteries and haunted places! Midnight on the Celestial is one I have been eyeing! The cover is gorgeous and it sounds incredible!
Hope you have another great week ahead!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

I started Haunted Ever After yesterday, and I’m really enjoying it. I liked DeLuca’s other series, and so far, the writing is similar with the right amount of humor and realistic characters. Hope you enjoy it when you get to it. Have a great week Jessica!
I homeschooled my kiddos as well and I have to say I don’t miss it, LOL! I think 4-day weeks are great, even if it does add a little extra time in. I hope you have a great week!

I’m loving this time homeschooling, but I can see not missing it 😂 Have a great week Cindy!
Yay! Glad to see you back. I like the idea of the 4 day school week. The district right next to the one I teach in has that, and I wish I could have it too! Really I just wish to be anywhere except where I currently am, lol. You’ve got some good books this week and I need to see some of your reviews, but have been behind on commenting. Hopefully I can check them out soon. Have a great week!

Thanks! I haven’t actually posted anything since the second week of July 🫣😅 So you are probably caught up with me. The 4-day week is working out great for us. Gives us some flexibility and now I know to schedule appointments and run errands on our day off so neither of us really feel rushed anymore. Have a great week Lisa!
Good to see you again. The 4 vs. 5 days sounds like a great idea. Over the last 10 years, I’ve transitioned from trying audiobooks to choosing them most often. It’s easier to multitask with them.

I’m happy to be back 🙂 The 4 day week has been really good for us so far. I’ve always enjoyed audiobooks, but over the last two years I went from listening to one or two a month to one or two a week. It’s definitely easier for me to manage.
