Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at The Broke and the Bookish. They’d love to share their lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
As I look back at 2015, there are many books I realized that I didn’t get to read. Many that made my list of wanting to read them at the beginning of the year and somehow they slipped through the cracks of my life. This week’s topic is “Top Ten 2015 Releases I Meant To Get To But Didn’t” and as I said there were a lot of them. I sat down and made my list and got roughly 25 books on there before I said, ok now which of these do I make a priority for 2016? So here they are, in no particular order, covers link to Amazon (affiliate).
Top Ten 2015 Books I Need to Read in 2016
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
I’m a sucker for dystopians and this one with it’s gorgeous cover and blurb…I can’t believe I’ve not read it yet!
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
I own all of Rainbow Rowell’s books. (BookOutlet.com people…check it out!) However I haven’t read any of her work yet. I plan to make that a priority in 2016 and since this ties in nicely with Fangirl I plan to read them together at some point 😉
The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh
I’ve developed a real love for retellings in 2015 and One Thousand and One Nights is an old favorite of mine. I read a different retelling (A Thousand Nights by E.K. Johnston) last year and really enjoyed it. Hope to read this one before its sequel comes out.
The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbury
This one has intrigued me since I first started hearing about it in late 2014. However I purposely put it off as there were so many mixed reviews. I hope to read it this year, now that the hype has died down a bit.
The Stars Never Rise by Rachel Vincent
I have heard nothing but GREAT things about this book! I’ve never read Rachel Vincent so I want this to be my first.
Dead of Winter by Kresley Cole
I’m ashamed that I haven’t read this one yet! I love this series and I even preordered this one so I’d have it to start at midnight when it was released…I don’t know what happened!!! I have every intention of reading it ASAP!
Ten Thousand Skies Above You by Claudia Gray
The library just came through for me! I downloaded it this morning to read…starting it next! But how will she ever top the Russia scenes?!
A Wicked Thing by Rhiannon Thomas
As I already disclosed, I’ve fell in love with retellings recently and this one…a Sleeping Beauty retelling…how have I NOT read it yet?!
Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson
This one is purely about the cover! I’ve avoided the synopsis and reviews because I WANT this book to be as beautiful as the cover….hope it doesn’t let me down!
The Scorpion Rules by Erin Bow
Dystopian….compared to The Hunger Games?! Anyone else need to know why I need to read this one 😉
Your Turn! What books did you not get to in 2015?
Oh, I hope you get to Carry On soon. I love Rainbow Rowell, and that book was so fun. It was almost like getting another Harry Potter book. 🙂
