Merry Mondays is a weekly meme hosted here @ Mom With a Reading Problem during the month of December to celebrate Christmas and the holiday season. Each week a different topic centered around the holidays will be discussed.
Merry Monday y’all! It’s hard to believe that Christmas is just 2 short weeks away. I don’t know about you but I’m getting excited. I love this time of year and spending it with family and friends. This week’s topic is “White Christmas or Beach Christmas…which is your preferred way to spend the holiday season?” and I want to know which you prefer. How do you spend your Christmas and what is your dream holiday?
Personally (if you can’t tell from the above pic) I prefer a snowy Christmas. The above was our first white Thanksgiving and my son’s first snow. The look on that kid’s face said it all for me. For him it was magical. He sat on his bed with the curtains open and watched it snow all day. He wouldn’t even leave to eat breakfast or lunch. I had to feed him in his room (he was 2 at the time). Christmas has an air of magic to it anyways. Add snow and it is truly magical. At least in my opinion. Kids are excited because not only did Santa leave presents, he brought snow from the North Pole.
Where we live now, we don’t get much snow. If we get anything it’s rain or ice. In my entire life, I’ve only had one white Christmas (had several ice Christmases though), and it was the Christmas I was pregnant with my son. My husband and I were getting ready to head over to my in-laws for breakfast, I was 32 weeks and really feeling miserable when I looked out and saw big, fat snowflakes falling. The rest of the day was perfect (aside from my poor shoe choice). We stayed cuddled up and watched the snow fall, made a snowman and I remember thinking I can’t wait for my son to see this. SO I say all that to say, “Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!”
I hope your family is A-OK. Family emergencies are kind of scary! I am joining you in this meme!
Everything is good! My mother-in-law had a fall but she is home and doing well. Thanks for checking! And yay! I’m glad you’re joining me 🙂
