Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at The Broke and the Bookish. They’d love to share their lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Happy Tuesday y’all! This week’s topic is “Ten Books We Meant To Read In 2017 But Didn’t Get To (and totallyyyy plan to get to in 2018!!).” Every year so many great books come out, and inevitable I can’t get to them all 😉 Here are the top ten I didn’t get a chance to read in 2017 but I am making a priority to read in 2018. As always, this list is in no particular order and covers/titles link to Goodreads/Blog/Amazon(aff).
Ten Books I Meant to Read in 2017 But Didn’t Get To
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor: I’ve been looking forward to reading this book since the author announced its release almost two years ago. I can’t believe I didn’t get to it last year. I grabbed a copy of the book on Amazon during their Goodreads sale at the end of the year. It’s on my TBR for this month and I cannot wait to dive in.
Hunted by Meagan Spooner: I love retellings, with Beauty and the Beast being one of my all-time favorite stories. I can’t believe I didn’t read this one last year so I’m making it a priority this year.
Cold Summer by Gwen Cole: Time travel, WWII, PTSD and girl next door romance…yes please! This was one of my most anticipated books for 2017 and somehow I missed its release. I can’t wait to read this one.
Geekerella by Ashley Poston: I love these types of romances. Plus this has some cosplay in it. How I missed reading it is beyond me.
Free Space by Sean Danker: Admiral the first book of this series was my hidden gem for 2016. Seriously it is a fantastic read. The entire book revolves around four people, stranded on a remote planet, and the narrator….you never learn his name. It was by far the most unique book I’ve ever read and I cannot wait to read its follow-up.
The Strategist by Gerrard Cowan: Another hidden gem from 2016, The Machinery takes scifi and fantasy to a new level. I loved the world building, the mystery, and the characters. I cannot wait to continue the story in this book.
Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo: Wonder Woman was my favorite movie last year, even surpassing my love for Star Wars (blaspheme I know). I loved the story, and Wonder Woman has always been a favorite superhero, mainly because she’s a girl 😉 I read Bardugo for the first time last year so I’m excited to see her take on my beloved superhero.
Warcross by Marie Lu: One of my favorite authors. I love her The Young Elites series and I cannot wait to dive into this tech-scifi.
Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth: Divergent is one of my all-time favorite dystopias. Roth holds nothing back and writes realistically, even if I hated it at the time. This fantasy has been on my TBR since it was announced and I cannot wait to finally dive into it.
Spindle Fire by Lexa Hillyer: Another retelling….this time it is Sleeping Beauty and I love the blurb. I think the author has put a fun spin on this story with sisters so I cannot wait to read it….hopefully before the sequel comes out in April.

Ooo! Lots I’d like to read too! “Geekerella” looks adorable, and I’ve been meaning to read “Hunted” and “Wonder Woman,” too. “Cold Summer” also REALLY intrigues me, as well. Here’s hoping we discover these in 2018!!
I did sneak in “Warcross” at the end of the year, and LOVED it. Hope you do too.
Happy 2018 reading!!

I really hope I can get to “Strange The Dreamer” this year. I`ve discovered Laini Taylor`s books only last year, but her writing is superb. Strongly recommend Wonder Woman, I read it when it first came out and I loved it.
Geekerella, Wonder Woman, and Warcross all made my list too. I bought Carve the Mark in 2017 and Hunted, Strange the Dreamer, and Cold Summer are all on my TBR. We’re in the same boat haha
Geekerella was on my list last year, too! I have it in audio now, so I WILL GET TO IT THIS YEAR! Um, maybe?
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!

I have Geekerella and still haven’t read it. I should have put it on my list!! … I should have put all my TTBF books on my list. Hindsight. 🙂
Ooh nice! I loved Wonder Woman, Warcross, and Hunted! I still need to read Carve the Mark, but I figure, if I like that one, which I hope to! Then I will binge it with the sequel later this year! Binge duologies is sooo much better for one’s sanity! Lol! Hope you get to read all of these this year!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
