Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event originally created and hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we are all eagerly anticipating. Jill has been MIA since August of 2016. Despite this, the meme lives on….Hope you come back Jill! Until then I will be joining Tressa at Wishful Endings and her meme Can’t-Wait Wednesday.
Happy Wednesday y’all! This week I’m anxiously waiting on War Storm by Victoria Aveyard. It doesn’t come out til May and I honestly am chomping at the bit to get my hands on a copy. I cannot wait to find out the conclusion to Mare’s story. The series started for me as an awesome fantasy series but as I read I realized it was more than a fantasy. It was actually a dystopian set in what is left of America. I hope there are answers to some of my burning questions like how the blood mutated, why there’s silver, and just in general what happened so the characters will not make the same mistakes. That is my favorite part about dystopians is learning the backstory so you can cheer the characters on and hope they’ve learned from their history. Can you tell I’m excited? I really cannot wait….4 more months!!!!
War Storm by Victoria Aveyard
Series: Red Queen #4
Published by HarperTEEN on 2018-05-15
Length: 400 pages
VICTORY COMES AT A PRICE.
Mare Barrow learned this all too well when Cal’s betrayal nearly destroyed her. Now determined to protect her heart—and secure freedom for Reds and newbloods like her—Mare resolves to overthrow the kingdom of Norta once and for all… starting with the crown on Maven’s head.
But no battle is won alone, and before the Reds may rise as one, Mare must side with the boy who broke her heart in order to defeat the boy who almost broke her. Cal’s powerful Silver allies, alongside Mare and the Scarlet Guard, prove a formidable force. But Maven is driven by an obsession so deep, he will stop at nothing to have Mare as his own again, even if it means demolishing everything—and everyone—in his path.
War is coming, and all Mare has fought for hangs in the balance. Will victory be enough to topple the Silver kingdoms? Or will the little lightning girl be forever silenced?
In the epic conclusion to Victoria Aveyard’s stunning series, Mare must embrace her fate and summon all her power… for all will be tested, but not all will survive.

It’s one of my favorite series!
Have not read Red Queen yet actually! I’ve been on the fence on whether or not I should start it for a while now. It it really good?
I really enjoyed it. I’ll be honest I wasn’t crazy about the last book that came out (King’s Cage) but I love the series as a whole. If you enjoy fantasy with a little bit of dystopia, I’d recommend it.
I know this one will be so popular at with the patrons at my library. I read Red Queen but should get back into the series. Thanks for sharing 🙂
