This meme is hosted by Michelle @ Because Reading. By the first Saturday of the month, I’ll pick three books from my massive TBR pile and then you will vote which one I read. Majority vote wins and I’ll post the winner on the second Saturday of the month. Then I will read the book and on the last Saturday of the month I’ll share what I thought about the book you picked for me to read. Fun right ? I’ve tweaked this meme just a little and will also share with you what I plan to read for the month. Voting is at the bottom.
Happy April everyone 😀 March was a busy month what with my husband having a seizure and all. So when I say I didn’t read much, I mean it. My TBR last month suffered. I managed to only read 4 books I had listed (two of those I DNFed), AND I didn’t get to the one y’all voted for 🤦🏼♀️ Hoping for a better reading month this go around.
Spindle Fire and Winter Glass by Lexa Hillyer: I really enjoy retellings so I’m excited to dive into this duology. In fact, I’m starting the first book today.
The Call of the Rift: Flight by Jae Waller: Fantasy is one of my favorite things to read! The blurb for this one sounds awesome, so I cannot wait to start it.
Battledoors: The Golden State by Brian Wilkerson: Alternate dimension….yes, please 😀 The idea of this story is that the main character can travel to an alternate version of his city with a magical tablet. I’m intrigued to say the least.
From the Earth to the Shadows by Amanda Hocking: I’m both excited and hesitant to read this one. The first book was just ok, but the ending hooked me and I need to know what happens in this urban mythology.
A Fistful of Fire by Rebecca Chastain: Stephanie Plum meets paranormal in this series and I enjoyed the first book. Book three comes out next month, so I thought I’d best catch up 😀
Perfectly Misunderstood by Robin Daniels: The last book in the Perfect series…this is such a sweet, contemporary YA series. Each book leaves me smiling. I’m not ready to see it end.
Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young: Viking fantasy….enough said! I cannot wait to fall into this story.
Immortal Writers and Immortal Creators by Jill Bowers: I’m ashamed to say that I have had a copy of the first book in this series since early last year. The blurb intrigued me then and now I’ve got to read it! Basically an up and coming author gets the chance to meet her favorite authors because…well they are immortal 😀
Time to Vote!
Blood Oath by Raye Wagner and Kelly St. Clare
Blurb:
Everything I know is a lie.
I’m an ordinary mortal girl. Lord Irrik is a depraved dragon shifter. King Irdelron is an immortal tyrant.
In the disease ridden land of Verald, life is mapped out much like the established rings of our kingdom. Everyone has a role…Me? I’ll be uselessly serving potato stew for the rest of my life because I can’t make anything grow.
But starvation brews rebellion.
When the king strikes, I’m captured by Lord Irrik. Instantly, I’m embroiled in a deadly game. One where I’m desperate to understand the rules.
Because nothing makes sense anymore.
Now, I’m not only fighting for my life . . . but a love that could be the key to my freedom.
What if the truth means you’re not who — or what — you thought you were?
Fans of dark fantasy, dragons, intrigue, and romance will devour this story. Scroll up and one-click now!
Due to thematic elements, this series is recommended for mature YA and up.

Mark of Truth by Graceley Knox
Blurb:
Ever Leath, leader of the deadliest crew within the Magical Enforcement and Containment Agency’s ranks, has always known she’s a half-breed—until a visit from her estranged mother changes everything. She’s determined to marry Ever off for political gain, no matter the consequences—even if it means Ever’s life.
Searching for the truth leads to disturbing doubts about Ever’s heritage, and just as answers appear, so does Dare Fitzpatrick. Captain of the Royal Goblin Guards and son to the current Goblin King, he claims he knows who Ever’s real father is and that she could be in danger. Ever doubts Dare, until he helps her escape the clutches of her would-be suitor and grants her shelter within the Goblin Kingdom.
Staying in Goblin, which has previously been off-limits to half-breeds, is a risk Ever has to take to keep everyone she loves safe. Neither of them planned on the fiery heat between them, but Dare won’t take no for an answer. Ever knows she can’t risk losing her heart to the cocky goblin, despite her attraction to him. At least that’s the plan.
Until it all falls apart.
Blood Oath because at the moment I have a thing for dragons! 😉 Looking forward to seeing which one wins!

I meant to read Sky in the Deep last month and didn’t get around to it – I have had an ARC sitting on my shelf for months now.
Me too! *facepalm* I’m hoping to read it next week.
That was so hard! I could easily see myself reading any of those three… so yeah, I went back and forth, but finally voted for Blood Oath. I hope you enjoy the winner… which is by .01% right now Blood Oath, but I suppose that could change by Saturday!
Have a great week!
