Amanda’s Weekly Update

This week has been a roller coaster. My husband usually has the summer off and I am very lazy when he’s off (because he’s such an amazing dad/husband and he does a LOT around the house). This week he’s been working, so I’ve been in a whirlwind of weirdness. I just started my next 8 week lifting block (that’s powerlifting speak for I’M PICKING UP HEAVY THINGS AGAIN💪), and nothing has felt right. I strained a pec muscle (a muscle in my chest, so it messed up my shoulder, arm, and back because OMG IT’S ALL CONNECTED😫 ) this week and it scared me to death. Freaked me out. So I read a lot while I was recovering. I finally managed to finish a book (woohoo!) only to be very confused and unsure of how I feel about the book or series. Up next is a reread of one of my favorites, which I usually listen to (because the Audible performance is PERFECT😍), and I’m looking forward to it VERY MUCH😁. Ready to get this weird, weird week behind me and get to the good things I have to look forward to next week!! (Like training with my coach🙌 and rereading an old favorite📗 and making some new and different food for suppers🐷.)

P.S. I’m sorry for all the emoji’s. I just figured out how to do them on my laptop…I went a little nuts.😅

Lillian’s Weekly Update

Happy Sunday y’all! Amanda has been busy, but y’all I’ve been boring this week. We did nothing. Our summer has been super busy up to this point so it was nice to do nothing. Little man and I deep cleaned his room, and I have a sack full of clothes that he has grown out of to take to the homeless shelter. I also have a sack full of stuffed animals that I convinced him other children need so Operation Teddy Bear here I come 😉 Reading wise it was a great week. I finally picked up The Cruel Prince by Holly Black again after DNFing it last summer. Y’all!!!! I listened to it this time and loved it! I’m listening to The Wicked King now and don’t know how I’ll wait for book three. Love fairy stories!

  1. Lillian, it’s always nice to pick up a book you DNF’D and surprising yourself by liking it now. I’d love to read Sherwood! I hope you enjoy it!
Amanda, you need to take it easy for sure! Sometimes you need more rest than you think. I always think that just because it doesn’t hurt, I’m good to go when it’s not the case. I loved Clockwork Angel! I hope you do too! Especially the last book and the ending 😭 So amazing.

    • Genesis it was a nice surprise to enjoy it! I’d had so many people recommend it and love it I thought it only fair to give it another go 😉 Sherwood is on sale on Kindle right now. That’s how I snagged it. Loved her Hunted! Happy Reading!

I have read and reread TID so many times. I just fall in love with the characters, and the ENDING. LAWD. Chills *every time*. <3

  2. Amanda – I hope you are feeling better. I am glad you were able to read more during your healing time–that’s good at least.

Lilian – I need to deep clean my daughter’s room. She hates letting anything go, and so it’s always a fight to get her to give things up. But she has too much stuff. Ugh. I am glad The Cruel Prince worked better for you the second time around!

I hope you both enjoy your new books! So many good ones! Have a great week!

  3. Oh my gosh OUCH, Amanda, that sounds freaking beyond painful and I hate it when you unexpectedly pull something in general but THAT spot, I can practically feel how much that hurt. Also, USE ALL THE EMOJIS YOU WANT, GIRL. They’re so fun!!! Plus, if anything, you’ll burn out from them soon if they aren’t your thing consistently!!

And Lillian–YESSSSSSSSSSS, I’m so glad you gave The Cruel Prince another chance and enjoyed it! Such a fun series! (Although, is that right? Stabby faeries equal fun?! Depends on who you ask!) Also, honestly, sometimes boring weeks sprinkled in are good. Here’s to hoping this week is less boring for you, so it doesn’t get tedious!
