Amanda’s Weekly Update
What? Where am I? Is it Sunday already? Phew! I had something going on every day this week. Our homeschool co-op (which I help to lead) is well underway and we’re getting things more organised for the school year. So that means I’ll be doing more things with the kiddos! 🙂 My husband’s work season ramps up Monday, too. So that means taking all three of my kids to the gym with me when I train (oh joy), and to all appointments. At the end of our busy weeks, however, we always make time for family. We like to do family movie nights where we make a special dinner, dessert and a family movie (tonight is make-your-own-pizzas and ice cream sandwiches for dessert as we watch Rookie of the Year). When I’m really on-top of things, family movie night incorporates what we’re doing with school (like reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe) and the dinner is themed. But WHO ARE WE KIDDING THAT DOESN’T HAPPEN, I just slap it together and call it good. At least I have THAT to look forward to every week. Looking forward to reviewing what I’ve read this week and dive in to some new books! 🙂
Lillian’s Weekly Update
Happy Sunday y’all! This week was a busy one. Little man started school. He’s a big 3rd grader now. When I picked him up on Friday, he declared that he loves third grade so I guess it’s good so far. We tried something new this week. Little man’s school is offering cross country this year. He loves to run, so we went to the introductory practice. He decided that it was great and plans to practice and be the fastest on the team. I’m glad we’ve found something that he enjoys besides video games 😂 Reading wise the last two weeks have been good. I’ve listened to 5 audiobooks and read three books. It’s been a long time since I’ve read that much! I’m kinda proud of myself. This week I’m subbing for the music teacher at school, and we are kicking off FTO (re: PTO) so it will be busy.

I love family movie nights! During term time, they happen on Fridays. We’ve got another couple of weeks before back to school though.
I’m loving your books this week ladies! The Fractured Empire cover is awesome and I need to start The Cruel Prince (and The Wicked King) so I can be ready when book 3 comes out.

The Fractured Empire is really good so far! And The Cruel Prince….gah! I have a love-hate relationship with it, but I highly recommend if you are a fae fan 😉
Oh nice!! Glad the kids are all getting back into the school groove nicely! It’s been years since I’ve seen Rookie of the Year! Didn’t he and his friends eat pizza at some point? That could’ve been a nice dinner and movie connection! Lol!!
Nice new reads!! Lots of new to me ones but I of course read and loved The Beauty of Darkness and The Cruel Prince! Hope you both enjoy your new reads!!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

We had Friday Family movie nights when the kids were younger. Now they are all teenagers it’s almost impossible to get them to agree on something to watch.
I’m really looking forward to reading Pen & Ink.
Wishing you both a great reading week:)
