Sunday Post #200 – We’re Back

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things you have received. Share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

So it’s been a minute since I’ve updated, since before our national quarantine. Q-tine has been weird. Hard to describe, honestly. My emotions have been all over the place, my powerlifting has been…well…lazy. The kids are climbing the walls, and I’m running out of healthy coping mechanisms. But it’s fine, we’re fine, I’m fine.  Thankfully, since we’ve all been home, my very handy, very handsome husband has built us a huge shed. And in this shed there is a squat rack. And on that squat rack there is a barbell. And on that barbell there are some plates. And under that barbell and plates squats a Manda, that benched and deadlifted and got real strong-like. I don’t know why she swallowed a fly…perhaps she’ll…umm…live a long and happy life. I don’t know what happened just now. I’ve been alone too long. Send help.

I’ve been doing blogger-y things this week, which has been so much fun. I have a Novel Flick review coming up as well as an audio book review. I chose to review one of my favorite books of all time – and I bet it’s one of yours, too. I’ve been completely emotionally wrung-out from it, but in a good way. That probably explains the weird song… ANYWAY, where was I? Oh, yes. I think the thing I’m most excited about this week was that I received my first ARC from NetGalley! I feel so official! Any of my fellow bloggers have any advice on reviewing ARC’s (besides “don’t burst into strange songs” or “try not to scare people with your weirdness” bc I can stop NEITHER of those things🤪🤣😅)??

I’ve missed my weekly bookish things with Lillian and chatting books and life with all of you! See you again real soon! ❤

Happy Sunday y’all! This past week was a long one. Our state is slowly lifting some of the stay at home orders. My hubby went back to work two weeks ago which is a relief and an added stress all at the same time. We finished our first semester of homeschool this week. But shhh…don’t tell my kid that! He thinks we still have another week to go, but I’m out of things to teach so we are going to play and plant stuff this week.

Speaking of the kid he gave us a scare yesterday. While I was in the shower, he decided to have a dizzy spell and nearly passed out on my husband. He had been playing upstairs (which gets hot and I HATE that there isn’t a better way to cool it off) all morning and admitted to his daddy that he lied to mommy when I asked if he had a drink with him and had eaten breakfast. Needless to say this mommy wasn’t happy. He got himself grounded from his electronics for lying (worst punishment ever for this kid), and the nurse in me came out and a timer was set for drinking a full 8 ounces every hour after he had a cup of juice and half a bottle of water. He was not a happy camper, but he did as he was told. I think it scared him….I know it scared us.

Reading wise, it was a great week. I read the SciFi #COYER book club read at the beginning of the week, which led to me buying and reading the sequel. I also managed to finish #MyTBRL pick and am hoping to finish an audiobook tonight. Also I’m drowning in ARCs this month. I don’t know why, but they just keep coming in. I’ll prob be taking most of June to finish up the ones coming out this month. Not to mention that because of the virus almost all of my June arcs were moved to August….I need to start reading now to get them all finished 😩

  1. OOh nice new reads! These are new to me ones for the most part. I’m debating about Julie C. Dao’s newest one. I’m not sure if it’s 100% for me, though it does sound intriguing! Will definitely be looking forward to the reviews.

    Happy Reading!
