In this first installment of the Super Turbo graphic novel series, the classroom pets of Sunnyview Elementary band together to form a Superpet Superhero League to fight the crime that is all around them! Can they defeat the evil rat pack threatening their school?
Turbo the hamster is the official classroom pet of Classroom C at Sunnyview Elementary…and he has a top secret identity as Super Turbo, crime-fighting superhero! He can’t believe it when he finds out he’s not the only superpet in town (or in school)! As he meets fellow superpets, such as Angelina the guinea pig (a.k.a. Wonder Pig) and Frank the rabbit (a.k.a. Boss Bunny), he also encounters a super VILLAIN: a rat who goes by the name of Whiskerface. Can Turbo and the Superpet Superhero League save the school from Whiskerface and his rat pack?
This graphic novel adaptation of the Super Turbo chapter book features fun, bright, full-color panels that bring the story to life better than ever before—but with all the same humor and action that readers have come to expect from Super Turbo!
I did not expect to love this one as much as I did! Super Turbo Saves the Day! by Edgar Powers is the first in a new graphic novel series featuring Turbo the classroom pet of classroom C. He is a classroom pet by day and superhero at night. In this installment, Turbo meets the other classroom pets and assembles the Superpet Superhero League to protect the school from the Rat Pack and any other dangerous villains.
This book is such a fun read. Geared towards younger, newly independent readers, the language used and art throughout the book are perfect for kindergarten on up. Even my ten year old, who reads at a higher level, enjoyed reading this one. Giggles could be heard throughout the house, and in my opinion there is no higher praise for a book than that a kid will be engaged with it.
Overall, I highly recommend Super Turbo. This first book sets the stage for our superheroes, introducing all the characters. My personal favorite is Wonder Pig, also known as Angelina a guinea pig. She’s quite funny. Humorous from start to finish, Super Turbo Saves the Day! is sure to delight kids of all ages, especially those who love a good adventure and a battle of good vs. evil.

In the second installment of the Super Turbo graphic novel series, Turbo and the Superpet Superhero League face off with a gang of flying ninja squirrels!
Turbo and his pals in the Superpet Superhero League are in super-big trouble when the flying ninja squirrels that live in the tree outside the school accuse them of stealing their sacred golden acorn! Truth be told, Professor Turtle IS in possession of it—that’s why he’s been so speedy lately—but he didn’t STEAL it! Can the superpets and ninja squirrels work it out and join forces to battle the real evil that’s lurking in the shadows of Sunnyview Elementary?
This graphic novel adaptation of the Super Turbo chapter book features fun, bright, full-color panels that bring the story to life better than ever before—but with all the same humor and action that readers have come to expect from Super Turbo!
Just as fun as the first! Super Turbo vs. the Flying Ninja Squirrels by Edgar Powers is the second book in the graphic novel series about the Superpet Superhero League. Classroom pets by day and superheroes at night, Turbo and his friends are investigating a series of mysterious noises coming from the empty halls of the school. Written for newly independent readers, Super Turbo will delight and engage kids of all ages.
In this installment of the series, Whiskerface has hatched a new plan to take over the school after stealing the Golden Acorn from the secretive Flying Ninja Squirrels. The only problem with his plan is that the acorn is missing. Turbo and his friends are having their weekly superhero meeting when they decide to check out the volcanoes in the science lab with Professor Turtle. Professor Turtle is moving faster than usual, so fast the other superpets are having a hard time keeping up with him.
I like the attention to detail and how the author subtly points the reader in the direction of the mystery surrounding the Golden Acorn. The illustrations and simple language are engaging and entertaining. There are also well delineated chapters, making it easy to find stopping spots for younger readers who are not quite ready to finish in one sitting.
Overall, I highly recommend the series to readers who enjoy adventure and battles of good vs. evil.
