Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at The Broke and the Bookish. They’d love to share their lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Wow!!! Only 3 weeks left in 2016!!! That just doesn’t seem possible. As 2016 comes to an end, I’ve already been scouting the books of 2017 so this week’s topic “Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward To For The First Half Of 2017” was an easy one 😉 There are a ton of new books coming next year that I’m excited for. New series from favorite authors and continuing series and even a few debut authors I’m excited for! Here are the top ten during the first half of 2017, in order by publication date. Titles link to Goodreads or Amazon (affiliate).
Most Anticipated Books in the 1st Half of 2017
Roseblood by A.G. Howard (Releases 1/10): A Phantom of the Opera retelling by my favorite author who created a magnificent wonderland?! Ummm….sign me up! I cannot wait to devour this book because y’all know there is no other way to read it.
Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth (Releases 1/17): I enjoyed the Divergent series despite the ending. So I’m excited and a little curious about her new one. I love scifi, especially when the authors take creativity and set it on another planet as this one is. And it’s geared towards Star Wars fans….no brainer for me to want this book!
Caraval by Stephanie Garber (Releases 1/31): A debut author and a book I’m really excited for. I featured this one a few weeks ago for my Waiting on Wednesday and I’m still waiting. Can’t wait to dive into this book! I love the elements of fantasy combined with a circus theme. I need this book!
King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard (Releases 2/7): Oh man!!! The ending of Glass Sword has me sweating. I’ve been dying to get my hands on this book since I finished the last one almost a year ago. I need to know what will happen to Mare!!!
Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones (Releases 2/7): A Labyrinth retelling?! Seriously y’all I’m so excited for this book. I love the movie and I know that it is a very loose retelling, but I’m still so excited for this book.
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor (Releases 3/28): That blurb is killing me!!! Is anyone else ready for this book? The blurb is so intriguing and reminds me vaguely of the end of her series Daughter of Smoke and Bone. Anyone else get that vibe?
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas (Releases 5/2): Do I really need a reason to have this book on my list? I SJM and honestly I enjoy this series more than Throne of Glass (shh…don’t tell on me). I’m currently rereading the first two as I write this post.
Avenged by Amy Tintera (Releases 5/2): I devoured Ruined and I’m curious to see how the series will play out. I loved the characters and rooted for them. Em did what she sought out to do. She took back her kingdom and rescued her sister but in the process betrayed someone she might love. How will this work? Need book!!!!
The Gauntlet by Megan Shepherd (Releases 5/23): I love this series! It’s unlike anything I’ve ever read before and I can’t wait to see it’s conclusion. I’m still reeling from the end of The Hunt. I did NOT see that ending coming and yes I cried and may have even yelled at the book so I need this one to find out what will happen to these humans who are so far out of their element.
Thief’s Cunning by Sarah Ahiers (Releases 6/13): I didn’t know if there would be anymore from the world of Assassin’s Heart, but I’m SO excited there is! According to the blurb, it picks up 18 years after the end of the first book and follows the niece, you know the daughter of a Da Via and Saldana. I cannot wait!!!

Pretty much yes to all of these! A few are new to me ones and there are still a few I need to get caught up in series wise! I’ve been so bad lately about that! Gotta make 2017 the year to get caught up with what I have! I deliberately held off on Megan Shepherd’s book just because I felt like binging the whole trilogy together! Which has become a trend with series that I am not already 1000% (yes, 1000%) invested in! To save myself from further heartache and despair as I wait yet another year for the next release!
Although I am dooming myself with my current read, as I heard the newest release ended with yet another mind-blowing cliffhanger! It just might be the death of me! LOL!
Great picks!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!

Jessica @ a GREAT read recently posted…Teaser & Top Ten Tuesdays
I agree waiting on Megan Shepherd’s series. The cliffhangers in both books, especially the last one has me on my toes! I can’t wait for May 😀
