Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event originally created and hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we are all eagerly anticipating. Jill has been MIA since August of 2016. Despite this, the meme lives on….Hope you come back Jill! Until then I will be joining Tressa at Wishful Endings and her meme Can’t-Wait Wednesday.
Happy Wednesday y’all! This week I’m anxiously waiting on Tower of Dawn by Sarah J Maas, the 6th book in Throne of Glass. While I haven’t read Empire of Storms yet (I know, shame on me), I’m all kinds of excited about this book. Chaol started the series as one of my favorite characters, but his reaction to discovering Celaena’s true identity dropped my opinion of him. From what I understand, this book is really the second half of Empire of Storms and the events contained in it run parallel to the previous book. I’m excited and nervous as I love Aelin and Prince Dorian. I’m just not sure how I feel about Chaol after the events of Queen of Shadows. I guess we’ll see. Not too much longer right?! I’m thinking August may be a Throne of Glass reread month in preparation for this one. Anyone want to join me 😀
Tower of Dawn by Sarah J Maas
Series: Throne of Glass #6
Published by Bloomsbury on 2017-09-05
Length: 672 pages
In the next installment of the New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series, follow Chaol on his sweeping journey to a distant empire.
Chaol Westfall has always defined himself by his unwavering loyalty, his strength, and his position as the Captain of the Guard. But all of that has changed since the glass castle shattered, since his men were slaughtered, since the King of Adarlan spared him from a killing blow, but left his body broken.
His only shot at recovery lies with the legendary healers of the Torre Cesme in Antica—the stronghold of the southern continent's mighty empire. And with war looming over Dorian and Aelin back home, their survival might lie with Chaol and Nesryn convincing its rulers to ally with them.
But what they discover in Antica will change them both—and be more vital to saving Erilea than they could have imagined.
What are you not-so-patiently waiting on this Wednesday?
I’m a bit behind on this series. I still need to read Queen of Shadows and Empire of Storms. Other books keep getting in the way. Sigh
I understand that! I still need to read Empire of Storms myself.
OMG, Sarah J Mass is a machine — how does she write so much!? It feels like her newest was just out?!

I know right?! And her books aren’t short either! ACOWAR was over 800 pages and this one is almost 700.
Great pick! I have yet to read a Sarah Maas book, but I have Throne of Glass at the top of my summer reading list. I really need to get started on all of these. I hope you enjoy this one when it comes out!

Me too! It is stunning!
Not really a genre I read, but it sounds interesting. Here’s my post http://socratesbookreviews.blogspot.com/2017/06/cant-wait-wednesday-june-28th.html

That’s a bit of a Game of Thrones looking cover…effective! I haven’t read this series but I am kind of considering it!

It’s high fantasy at its best (YA)! I can see the GoT reference and the later books in the series remind me a little of it.
