Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at The Broke and the Bookish. They’d love to share their lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Happy Tuesday y’all! I missed last week’s topic of “Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR” so I plan to do that one today instead of this week’s topic which is “Ten Bookish Settings I’d Love to Visit.” I decided I’d do last week’s topic simply because I’ve done this week’s before back in 2014 when the blog was still a baby. It’s one of my favorite posts too so feel free to check it out 😉 As always books/cover link to Goodreads/Blog/Amazon(aff) and are in order by release date.
Top Ten Books on My Winter TBR
A Wedding at Two Love Lane by Kiernan Kramer (1/2): I love a sweet, small town romance. This is one of those that most likely will remind me of a Hallmark movie and you know what? I’m okay with that 😀
Between the Blade and the Heart by Amanda Hocking (1/2): I love mythology and I love it even more when an author puts a new spin on an old myth. This particular book is the first in a new series about the Valkyrie and I cannot be more excited to dive into it!
Inseparable by Siobhan Davis (1/8): This is one of my favorite authors and one I drop everything to read. I don’t typically enjoy steamy, contemporary romance. It’s just not my thing, but Siobhan does it right. There’s enough drama, twists, and surprises that the plot keeps the book moving and the romance is an added bonus instead of the driving force 😉
Unearthed by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner (1/9): I may have giggled aloud when I read the blurb for this one. Y’all I love books set off world and this is one of them. I haven’t read anything by these authors yet….I know, I know I need too and I even own them so one of these days I’ll get to them. But right now, just do me a favor and read the blurb for the one!
Poison’s Cage by Breeana Shields (1/16): The first book in this series, Poison’s Kiss, was my favorite debut of the year. I loved it and y’all even though I read it the first week of 2017 I still remember all of it and simply cannot wait to continue Iyla’s story.
Banished by Betsy Schow (2/1): The Storymakers series is such a fun series. I had never read a retelling of a fairy tale before reading Spelled two years ago. After doing so, I’ve read as many as I can get my hands on and really enjoy them. Spelled was a fun read and while I still need to read the second book in the series, I have no doubt the rest of the series will be fun too.
By the Book by Julia Sonneborn (2/6): I love Jane Austen. Those of you that follow the blog should know that by now 😉 This particular story is a retelling of Austen’s classic Persuasion which is arguably my favorite of Austen’s works.
The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory (2/6): I’ll be honest the blurb for this book reminded me of the Dermot Mulroney movie of the same name. Granted this time it’s the male needing a date and the female is not an escort, but still same rules apply. Male doesn’t want to attend ex’s wedding alone and gets a date last minute. I think this will be a fun read around Valentine’s Day.
Tess of the Road by Rachel Hartman (2/27): Dragons….enough said 😉
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi (3/6): I am so stoked for this book! I won an ARC from Goodreads and I’m anxiously checking my mail, waiting for it. I’ll most likely drop everything I’m doing to read it when it arrives. I love the world the blurb promises and cannot wait to dive into it.
