Amanda’s Weekly Update

Hiieeee! It’s been a minute since I’ve updated everyone! Things have been weird, but I’m here and stuff. So, this is my family’s busiest season, which I’m sure I’ve said before. I’ve also been going through some family things on top of my kids being sick, which has been hard to deal with, especially considering my husband’s work schedule. The good news is that I competed in my first powerlifting competition!! It was amazing. All the weights felt light, and a bunch of my friends were there to support us (there were a few of us from my gym that competed), and I found out how strong I really am. You never know what kind of strength you have until you have to push through something when you don’t want to. I really wanted to quit my meet a couple of weeks ago, but I didn’t. I trained anyway, then competed, even though I kept wondering why on earth I thought I could. And then I did anyway. Maybe that’s the key to it all. Do it anyway. And I even won a medal.

I haven’t gotten to read much because of all the drama going on, but I plan on remedying that SOON! Cuz CHRISTMAS BOOKS! 😁

Lillian’s Weekly Update

Happy Sunday y’all! It was a long week at our house. Lots of personal stuff going on that has my mind busy which results in little reading time. I managed to read three books this week for the HoHoHo Readathon, not nearly as many as I’d hoped. Since I couldn’t focus on reading, I watched things. Disney+ dropped this week 😀 I’ve spent the week binging some of my favorite 90s cartoons….mainly Gargoyles. Y’all Disney+ is worth it for that alone. Are you watching with Disney+? What have you discovered? Share please

Thanks! I managed! I have a fantastic support system and they all believe in me, even when I don’t. I can’t wait to compete again!

  1. I’m sorry you’re going through some things, but it sounds like you’re dealing amazingly. “Maybe that’s the key to it all. Do it anyway. And I even won a medal.” This made me smile, because the first two sentences are something I had to (am still having to) learn the hard way, but so far I haven’t won a medal for it. 😀 Congrats and so cool that you participated in the competition, good on you!

AJ, don’t feel bad, I’m terrible at athletic things, too, which is why I’m a powerlifter. Lol! It’s been a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to do it again.
