Ok I cannot believe that today is the last day of June! How does that happen? It feels like time just moves quicker and quicker…..and now I sound like my mom 😉 Let’s take a quick look back on what’s been happening on the blog in June….
Favorite June Read
I loved every word of this book! It’s a reimagining of Peter Pan and tells the story of Captain James Hook, the notorious pirate who is the sworn enemy of Peter Pan. And I’ll tell you this much there is no way you can possibly guess what will happen to the characters, also Peter Pan isn’t the nice boy from the Disney movies. A blend of history and fiction, myth and fantasy, this one needs to be added to your Summer Reading list 🙂
Favorite Quote in June
As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly and then all at once.
~ John Green, The Fault in Our Stars
Top 5 Reviews
Hope at Dawn by Stacy Henrie: This historical romance was a new release the last week of June and the post blew up my blog stats! Wonderfully written story about how God works in the lives of two people.
Stone of Destiny by Laura Howard: Book two of the Danaan trilogy and where you will find my current book boyfriend resides. If you enjoy fantasy and fairy mythology, go check it out 🙂
Team Us: Marriage Together by Ashleigh Slater: This nonfiction work is geared towards newlyweds but it’s content is applicable even to those that have been married 50+ years. Also it’s great if you are looking for a good laugh and some wonderful inspiration for your marriage.
Descending by Holly Kelly: Book two of the Rising series, a wonderful story about Dagonians and mermaids living on land. I have to say I really enjoyed this one! 5★’s for this one
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green: No surprises this one made the list! John Green’s novel about two cancer-ridden teens and the friendship they find in one another is beautifully written and is a very true picture of kids who struggle with the big C.
June Interviews
Alyx, Jordan, and Israel from the Dark Angel series by Hanna Peach: This was so much fun! Though I’ll admit I was quite flustered by Jordan, he is one nice looking man, or angel, or rogue…..whatever he is!
Katy O’Dowd, author of Memento Mori and The Lady Astronomer: Love this author’s writing style, very formal and it’s steampunk, crime, suspense, fantasy….you’ll love her!
Coming up in July
