2018 Reading Challenges: 1st Quarter Update

Posted March 30, 2018 by Lillian in Challenges / 1 Comment

I cannot believe that the first quarter of 2018 is already coming to a close!! It just doesn’t seem possible. I can’t say, however, that I’m sad to see it go. The 1st quarter has been rough for us! Flu, strep throat, medical emergencies….to put it in perspective my husband has met his deductible for the year AND his out of pocket max is also almost met. Despite all the sickness, this 1st quarter was a good reading quarter. I’ve read 34 books (maybe 35 by Sunday, we will see) so far this year and am on track to meet all of my goals. I call that a win 😀 To see how I’m faring in each challenge, continue to read below OR you can follow my progress on the challenges pages in the menu above.

The 2018 Reading Assignment Challenge is hosted by Berls and Michelle @ Because Reading. The point of this challenge is to simply make a list of books you plan to read (1-4 books per month) and choose books to read from that list. It’s harder than you think 😉 You can still sign up for this challenge here until October 1st. I decided to stick with Reading Level 1 (1 book per month) this year. Here are the books I’m planning to read during the Spring Semester:

  • The Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
  • Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
  • Warcross by Marie Lu
  • Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
  • Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth
  • City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare

During this quarter, I made an A on my report card, reading 3 off my list. Here are the books I read this quarter:

  1. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
  2. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
  3. Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige (review to come tomorrow or you can see it early on Goodreads)

  1. Dude, you are doing so awesome on your Challenges this year!! Woop woop! I’m doing awesome on some, and only mediocre on a few others. BUT, I can’t say I’m failing any of them yet, so that’s a bonus! 😉 I should do an update, but I’ll probably just Facebook live it instead b/c I’m too lazy. 😛
